With 140 years of heritage and over 1,900 passionate individuals across 20 countries, we’re excited to continue our journey forward — and we’re now expanding our presence with a new Business Service Center in Warsaw, Poland, a key hub primarily for our growing Digital & Tech-squads.Join our vibrant team in Warsaw as a Senior Backend Engineer and be a part of something extraordinary!As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will accelerate feature delivery for Breitling’s e‑commerce platform to maximize brand value and conversion, ensuring readiness and resilience for launches, drops, and global campaigns. You’ll design and operate scalable, reliable, and secure event‑driven services, elevate engineering quality through reviews, mentoring, testing, and documentation, and own the continuous improvement of integrations with key external systems (e.g., Algolia, Yext, Adyen, DAM, PIM, ERP/OMS, CRM) with a focus on compliance and operational excellence.Success in this role hinges on strong collaboration, clear communication, and an unwavering commitment to product quality.Your contribution:You will maintain and deliver e-commerce features as part of the business strategy.You will operate and extend our Saleor-based commerce platform, including configuration and plugin development.You will own and improve integrations with external systems such as search/content (Algolia, Yext), payments (Adyen, Stripe, etc.), DAM, PIM, CMS, ERP/OMS, CRM, tax/VAT (Avalara/Avatax), shipping, and fraud detection (Riskified).You will build and evolve Python/FastAPI services with async I/O (asyncio), REST/OpenAPI, and GraphQL.You will implement event-driven workflows using Azure Service Bus with idempotency, DLQs, retries, and backpressure.You will containerize and run services on Kubernetes, managing deployments via GitOps with Argo CD.You will investigate and resolve operational issues using Datadog (APM, logs, metrics), Sentry (error monitoring and release health), and Azure Service Bus Explorer for message tracing and DLQ analysis.You will configure CDN/WAF solutions with Cloudflare or Akamai, including caching, rate limiting, bot mitigation, and edge rules.You will use Git effectively (branching, PRs, code reviews, feature flags) and maintain CI/CD pipelines.You will document designs and decisions, mentor engineers, and lead technical initiatives.Do you think there is even more to discover in this role? You're right — apply today and learn more!You will fit well to our squad if: You have 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience with production ownership.You have demonstrated experience in designing and operating distributed, event-driven systems.You are familiar with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.You have strong time management and organizational skills.You communicate clearly and document designs effectively.You have an ownership mindset with a strong bias for action.You have hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including indexing, migrations, and query tuning.You are proficient with Docker and Kubernetes.You use Git effectively, including branching, pull requests, and code reviews.You understand security fundamentals, including OAuth2/OIDC, secrets management, least privilege principles, and dependency scanning.You are experienced with CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks such as pytest (unit and integration).You are familiar with AWS (EKS, SQS/SNS, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM) in addition to Azure.You maintain high code quality using tools such as type hints/mypy, ruff/flake8, Black, and pre-commit.You are skilled in performance profiling and problem-solving in distributed systems.Your new employer:At Breitling, we encourage everyone to bring true authenticity to work and contribute to our shared mission to redefine luxury.
