We believe in empowering our people to do their best work, and we're looking for foundational members to join us on this incredible journey.The RoleAs a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be a cornerstone of our engineering team and the architect of our core platform. You won’t just be another cog in the machine; you'll be responsible for designing, building, and running the critical systems that power our product. This is a role for someone who loves to take initiative, solve complex problems, and wants to see their work have a direct and immediate impact on our business and customers. You will have a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to shape our technical direction.What You'll DoArchitect & Build: Design, develop, and deploy scalable, secure, and highly-available backend services using a microservices architecture.Take Full Ownership: Own the entire software development lifecycle for your services—from initial brainstorming and technical design to implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.Champion DevOps & CI/CD: Build, maintain, and improve our CI/CD pipelines to ensure our team can ship high-quality code quickly and reliably. You'll live and breathe DevOps principles to enhance automation and system observability.Collaborate & Influence: Work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, designers, and other business leaders to translate product requirements into technical realities. You'll be expected to communicate technical concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Mentor & Lead: Foster a culture of technical excellence by mentoring other engineers, championing best practices, and leading by example.Ensure Reliability: Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across our stack, and take part in an on-call rotation to keep our services running smoothly.What We're Looking ForMust-Haves:5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.Demonstrable experience designing, building, and operating applications based on a microservices architecture.Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Rust, Java, Node.js).Hands-on experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and databases (SQL and NoSQL).A profound sense of ownership. You're accountable, proactive, and committed to seeing projects through to completion.Excellent communication skills with proven experience in stakeholder management, capable of articulating complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.Nice-to-Haves:Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).Previous experience thriving in an early-stage startup environment.
