Senior BI Analyst

About the roleA leading financial services client, located on the fringe of Sydney, is seeking a Senior BI Analyst to join their Data and Analytics team. You will partner with business and technology teams to turn complex financial data into meaningful insights and develop scalable reporting and analytics solutions that support decision-making across the organisation.Key responsibilitiesDevelop, maintain and optimise SQL Server databases and SSAS multidimensional or tabular models for financial reporting and analyticsDesign and deliver Power BI dashboards and reports that clearly present financial and operational performanceTurn business requirements into efficient data models using DAX, MDX and SQLWork closely with data engineers, finance stakeholders and risk teams to integrate multiple data sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency and performanceMonitor and tune SSAS models, including partitioning, aggregations and securityDocument solutions, maintain data standards and support users in self-service BI adoptionBuild solutions that support wider teams, with awareness of how changes impact upstream and downstream systems and processesWhat you will bringStrong experience with SQL Server, SSAS and Power BIAdvanced DAX and MDX for building calculations and KPIsAbility to design models that support reporting and analytics across multiple business areasStrong communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutionsAnalytical mindset and strong attention to detailNice to haveDegree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance or related fieldExperience in banking, insurance or wealth management analyticsUnderstanding of governance, data quality and regulatory reporting environments
