SteerAI’s advanced AI-powered autonomy stack, developed by the Technology Innovation Institute, empowers the logistics and defense industries by turning industrial vehicles into autonomous powerhouses that can handle complex off-road missions, transforming operations and protecting organizations' most important assets: their workforce.Role OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to lead and coordinate all cybersecurity aspects across our systems and products. This role will involve performing in-depth analysis, defining security specifications, and ensuring the implementation of appropriate security measures—either directly or by leveraging external systems and partners. As the cybersecurity focal point, you will act as the coordinator for all security-related initiatives, bridging technical requirements with business and compliance needsResponsibilitiesCybersecurity Analysis & SpecificationPerform threat modeling, risk assessments, and vulnerability analysis across systems and architectures.Define and maintain cybersecurity specifications, policies, and requirements in line with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.Ensure security requirements are integrated into system and software design from the start.Implementation & CoordinationLead the implementation of security measures such as authentication, encryption, network segmentation, and intrusion detection.Evaluate, select, and integrate third-party security tools and external solutions when appropriate.Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent application of cybersecurity best practices.Act as the cybersecurity coordinator across teams, ensuring awareness, training, and compliance with policies.Governance & ComplianceSupport adherence to relevant security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 21434, NIST, GDPR).Track security incidents and coordinate incident response efforts.Regularly report on the security posture and risks to leadership.Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field.5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, preferably in system or product development environments.Strong knowledge of:Threat modeling, risk assessment, and vulnerability management.Security architectures, network security, and cryptographic principles.Standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 21434, NIST CSF).Hands-on experience with security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, etc.).Experience coordinating with cross-functional engineering teams and external vendors.Strong communication and leadership skills to act as the central cybersecurity coordinator.
