Seattle, Washington (Hybrid)Compensation: $160,000–$195,000 base salary, plus bonus and benefitsAbout Sniffies:Sniffies is a fast-growing, location-based GBTQ+ cruising app that connects users in real-time. As a product-led company, we prioritize innovation, inclusivity, and user experience.Position Overview: As Principal Data Analyst, you’ll be the lead strategic data partner across Product, Marketing, and Trust & Safety, responsible for turning complex data into actionable intelligence that drives product innovation, monetization, and user engagement. You’ll own the design of Sniffies’ analytical ecosystem: defining how we measure success, improving our data pipelines and dashboards, and mentoring analysts and stakeholders to make data-informed decisions.This is both a hands-on and highly strategic role, perfect for someone who loves diving deep into data, spotting trends others miss, and influencing product and business direction at the leadership level.What You’ll Do:Data Strategy & Leadership Define and evolve Sniffies’ analytics strategy, aligning it with company objectives across growth, engagement, and trust. Develop frameworks that standardize how Product, Marketing, and Trust & Safety teams measure success and performance.Act as the data thought leader, influencing decision-making through clear, data-backed storytelling. Advanced Analytics & Experimentation Lead end-to-end analytics across key initiatives: user acquisition, conversion, retention, and monetization. Design and oversee experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, causal inference, multivariate tests) to optimize product and marketing decisions. Build predictive models for user behavior, churn, lifetime value, and content engagement, collaborating with Data Engineering and Machine Learning teams. Cross-Functional Partnership Partner with the Product team to shape roadmap priorities based on user data, engagement patterns, and feature performance. Collaborate with the Marketing team to evaluate channel performance, campaign ROI, and attribution accuracy. Work closely with the Trust & Safety team to identify behavioral signals that detect spam, abuse, or platform risks. Data Infrastructure & Governance Work with Data Engineering to ensure data quality, availability, and integrity across all systems.Define and maintain key company metrics (DAU, MAU, retention, LTV, engagement rate, etc.), ensuring consistency and reliability. Partner with the Business Operations team to build an automated, leadership-level business scorecard.Streamline analytics pipelines and dashboards to make insights accessible to all levels of the company. Mentorship & Influence Mentor junior analysts and team members, establishing best practices for analysis, experimentation, and visualization. Communicate insights effectively to leadership, bridging the gap between raw data and strategic decision-making. Champion a data-informed culture, ensuring every major product and marketing decision starts with evidence. Qualifications:7+ years of experience in data analytics, product analytics, or a related field, ideally in consumer tech, mobile, or social networking platforms. Deep expertise in SQL, Python, R, or other analytics languages for large-scale data analysis. Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Amazon QuickSight, Looker, Tableau, or equivalent).Advanced understanding of A/B testing, statistical modeling, cohort analysis, and attribution modeling. Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate insights into business impact.Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex findings simply and persuasively.Passion for the Sniffies community and mission, with a sensitivity to the unique needs and culture of the GBTQ+ audience. Preferred Qualifications:Experience leading data strategy for a high-growth consumer or subscription product, ideally with a background in growth or engagement.Familiarity with event-based architectures and user-level behavioral data. Experience with machine learning or experimentation platform design. Prior experience mentoring or managing data teams.Why Join Us?At Sniffies, you’ll shape a critical part of our platform, helping ensure that our vibrant community continues to thrive in a safe and welcoming environment.
