Adecco is hiring on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize SQL Server environments both on-premises and in Microsoft Azure. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, security, and peak performance for database platforms that support key business operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise with traditional on-premise SQL Server systems as well as modern Azure-based database services.Key Responsibilities:• Install, configure, and maintain MS SQL Server instances in both on-premises and Azure environments.• Monitor and manage database performance, security, and integrity.• Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, indexing, and updating statistics.• Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions like Always On, Log Shipping, and Azure Geo-Replication.• Develop and maintain automation scripts and scheduled jobs for administrative efficiencies.• Plan and execute migrations between on-premises and Azure SQL environments.• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to improve SQL code and database schema designs.• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards.• Proactively monitor database systems and respond to alerts and incidents.• Document database architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.• Support capacity planning and provide technical advising on best practices for managing databases.Qualifications:• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA in production environments.• Deep understanding of SQL Server architecture, internals, and administration.• Proven track record working with both on-premises SQL Server and Azure SQL services (Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance).• Skilled in backup/recovery strategies, disaster recovery planning, and high availability setups.• Strong proficiency in T-SQL scripting, query optimization, indexing, and analyzing execution plans.• Experience with Azure portal, Azure Monitor, PowerShell, Azure Automation, and infrastructure automation tools like ARM templates.• Familiar with monitoring tools such as Redgate or SolarWinds.• Knowledgeable about security practices including role-based access control, encryption, and auditing.• Experience integrating database changes into CI/CD pipelines.• Familiarity with cloud migration tools such as Data Migration Assistant and Azure Migrate.Adecco welcomes qualified candidates to apply for this opportunity to join a dynamic team driving critical database infrastructure.
