Position Summary...What you'll do...Immigration Sponsorship is not available in this roleAbout Role:As the Senior Director of Technical Program Management for Technology Strategy and Emerging Tech, you will lead Walmart’s most forward-looking initiatives, driving enterprise-wide adoption of AI-powered technologies that redefine retail experiences. You will spearhead programs in AI Commerce, Conversational, and Immersive Experiences, harnessing emerging technologies to create intelligent, personalized, and frictionless shopping journeys.You will define and execute strategic programs that transform customer experiences at scale—bridging technology innovation with business impact—while influencing the future of retail through artificial intelligence, operational excellence, and empathetic leadership.What You’ll DoPartner with senior leadership to define and evolve the strategic vision for emerging technologies across Walmart. Translate business goals into scalable technical programs that drive measurable impact across domains. Establish frameworks for prioritization, investment, and success metrics across a portfolio of innovation initiatives. Lead collaboration across product, engineering, design, and business teams to align on shared outcomes. Influence executive stakeholders and drive consensus in complex, high-opinion environments. Champion change management across the enterprise, embedding new ways of working and scaling adoption. Oversee delivery of large-scale, multi-track programs with high visibility and strategic importance. Implement enterprise Agile best practices to drive transparency, velocity, and risk mitigation. Ensure program health is communicated effectively across all levels—from engineering teams to executive leadership. Leverage data analytics to guide program direction, uncover insights, and inform strategic pivots. Build and evolve dashboards, reporting frameworks, and feedback loops that support continuous improvement. Hire, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of Technical Program Managers. Foster a culture of innovation, empathy, and accountability. Promote diversity of thought and empower teams to lead with curiosity and courage. What You’ll Bring12+ years of program management experience in technology or SaaS environments, including 7+ years leading enterprise-scale software development initiatives. Proven success managing cross-functional teams, offshore vendors, and external tech partners. Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and enterprise program frameworks. Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to drive alignment across divergent perspectives. Strong communicator with experience presenting to executive leadership and influencing strategic decisions. Demonstrated ability to lead through empathy, clarity, and data-driven insights. Ability to translate business goals into technical requirements and architectural decisions. Experience with system integrations, API design, and platform scalability. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or PMP certification. Background in engineering, quantitative analysis, or data science. Experience with organizational transformation and change management.
