This group is primarily responsible for our web and mobile applications that are used by teams, leagues, coaches, and fans. They ensure our customers have a seamless user experience within our products for the thousands of sporting events we run each year.This role is based in our Los Angeles office. Join our team and add your talents to building a hub for all of Genius Sports.Responsibilities & DutiesDesign, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve our customer-facing and internal applicationsContribute to multiple layers of our stack, from our web front-end, backend APIs, and databasesCollaborate closely with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and other software engineersAssist with reliability, stability, and availability of applicationsOwn reliability, stability, and availability of systems applicationsMentor other engineers both technically and professionallyMaintain best practices for software development, including deployment process, documentation, and adherence to and improvement of coding standards.Assess and drive adoption of emerging technologies and techniquesProvide technical leadership, including code review, practices, and skill developmentCommunicate technical commitments and decisions to team and external stakeholdersDiscuss and distribute knowledge, technical concepts, and ideas with any member of our diverse organizationParticipate in our engineering culture by embracing opportunities to learn from othersOur StackClient-side: ReactJS, NextJS, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, Design SystemsServer-side: GraphQL, REST, NodeJS, TypeScript, Postgres, Redis, RabbitMQ, Pulsar, Auth0, RustInfrastructure: AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, ElasticCache), Docker, Linux, TerraformCodebase: Git with GitLabRequired Skills & Experience5+ years of hands-on, full-time software development experienceExperience building production web apps using ReactJS and NodeJSCustomer-focus with an understanding that shipping software involves tradeoff and collaborationAbility to articulate and make decisions about trade-offs between rapid iteration and high-quality productsSelf-motivation and ability to work independently in an efficient mannerExperience collaborating across multiple disciplines (front-end, back-end, databases, infrastructure, and product design)Ability to take point on technical discussions and feature prioritizationBachelors in computer science or equivalent experience, with strong software engineering componentsWhat Will Set You ApartExperience with GraphQL (client or server)Experience with RustAbility to articulate and make decisions about trade-offs between rapid iteration and high-quality productsAbility to take point on technical discussions and feature prioritizationExperience working with Video Streaming ApplicationsThe salary for this role is based on an annualized salary range of $180,000 - $220,000.
