Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior HRPB to join our client for a one year contract to provide leadership and hands-on support across all areas of Human Resources. This role will oversee recruitment strategy, performance management, job evaluation, benefits administration, and the distribution of HR workload to ensure smooth operations during the contract period. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Roles and Responsibilities:Talent AcquisitionDevelop and execute strategies to attract, engage, and hire diverse, high-quality talent.Manage the complete recruitment process, including defining roles with managers, preparing job profiles, advertising positions, sourcing and screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and supporting hiring decisions.Provide guidance and coaching to managers to ensure consistent and inclusive interview and selection practices.Recommend competitive offers, prepare employment agreements, and oversee approval and negotiation processes.Conduct reference and background checks to ensure hiring compliance and standards.Build and maintain strong relationships with external recruitment partners and agencies.Track recruitment-related costs and ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion principles are applied throughout the hiring process.Employee Relations and People AdvisoryAct as a trusted HR advisor, providing consistent guidance to managers and employees on policies, procedures, and people-related matters.Promote an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative work environment that supports engagement and belonging.Support the development, implementation, and updating of HR policies, frameworks, and performance management tools, ensuring alignment with legal and organizational standards.Guide managers through performance reviews, goal setting, feedback, and development discussions.Provide advice on performance challenges and assist with improvement or action plans as needed.Promote positive employee relations and address concerns or complaints in a fair and timely manner.Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that strengthen organizational culture.Assist with or lead investigations of employee concerns, maintaining confidentiality and compliance.Enhance the employee lifecycle through effective onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes.Support people-related initiatives and projects that strengthen engagement and organizational growth.Compensation and Job EvaluationPartner with managers to review and update job descriptions to reflect current responsibilities and business needs.Support compensation planning, including salary recommendations and annual merit adjustments.Participate in role evaluation processes and maintain accurate documentation and classification standards.Assist with external compensation benchmarking and survey participation to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices.Learning, Development, and WellbeingSupport the design and delivery of learning and development programs to encourage continuous growth.Collaborate with leaders to identify training needs and coordinate external training providers as required.Support initiatives that promote employee health, safety, and wellness.Assist with managing and tracking training budgets and related reporting.HR Operations and StrategyMaintain accurate HR data, metrics, and reports for analysis, compliance, and decision-making.Prepare employment-related documentation, including offer letters, promotions, and compensation adjustments.Contribute to departmental objectives and projects that align with organizational strategy and priorities.Qualifications and SkillsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; CHRP/CPHR designation an asset.5+ years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on recruitment, performance management, and benefits administration. Preferably in a HR Manager, HR Consultant or HRBP role. Strong understanding of Canadian employment laws and HR best practices.Proven experience in job evaluation and writing job descriptions.Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a solutions-focused mindset.Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
