This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.About The PositionThe Senior Manager - Strategic Procurement is a dynamic role leading Category Management and Delivery teams working across CAPEX and OPEX expenditure.The role will be responsible for building and managing a business pipeline, supplier engagement and a high degree of strategic planning/thinking.The successful candidate will be joining a high-performing team and collaborating with passionate and like-minded business stakeholders at an exciting time of transformational change with a rich pipeline of value-optimising initiatives to be progressed and implemented.This is a fixed term 12 month contractKey ResponsibilitiesDeveloping and overseeing the Strategic Procurement team, including the effective management of multiple direct reports and fostering their growth to consistently contribute to the successful execution of the Strategic Asset PlanLeading the planning and execution of major/high value or high risk Procurement projects to ensure successful delivery in accordance with business requirements.Leading the development and delivery of comprehensive category management plans across project and operational spend. To consistently track and report on progress against agreed milestones;Lead the effective implementation of the pipeline of Procurement transformation initiatives at Snowy Hydro, including to drive adoption of updated processes with key stakeholders and identify and implement opportunities for process optimisationActively developing and managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships, including the fostering of collaborative relationships with key supplier partnersLeading the team in sourcing and selecting suppliers, evaluating vendor performance, and ensuring adherence with Snowy Hydro procurement policies and proceduresAbout the location:This position can be based in Melbourne or Sydney.About YouYou’ll bring a strong, active understanding of strategic planning and delivery You’ll have experience in leading high performing teams You’ll have CAPEX and/or OPEX procurement experience You bring a passion for fostering a workplace where employees feel valued, heard and supported You have significant knowledge of category management techniques Strong communication skills are essential, with your team, stakeholders and executives A working knowledge of procurement systems, eg; Ellipse Working on a contract basis, you get up to speed and make a positive impact quickly About Our WorkforceSnowy Hydro has a culture of decency and inclusion, with a commitment to the health and wellbeing of our people and a supportive environment to ensure that everyone - regardless of background - feels included and can succeed.
