Job DescriptionRole SummaryThe Senior Manager – GA is the cornerstone of close excellence and balance sheet integrity within their scope. The role ensures that every financial result is accurate, audit-ready, and delivered with confidence—while building a capable, accountable, and continuously improving team.Role PurposeThe Senior Manager – General Accounting is responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and timely financial results for an assigned cluster of entities. The role ensures disciplined month-end close execution, robust balance sheet governance, SOX-compliant controls, and strong partnership with Controllers. This leader drives performance, uplifts process maturity, and develops a high-performing accounting team that demonstrates accountability, transparency, and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities Close Execution and Financial AccuracyOwn month-end and quarter-end close activities for assigned entities, ensuring First-Time-Right (FTR) outcomesReview Trial Balance, validate account movements, and ensure accuracy of journals, accruals, and provisionsEnsure full adherence to close calendar, cut-offs, and controller expectations, maintaining a zero-surprise environmentDrive governance routines, including pre-close reviews, WD discipline, and quality checkpoints Balance Sheet Governance and Risk ManagementEnsure 100% balance sheet reconciliation completeness, accuracy, and timely approvalsIdentify aged items, risks, and exposures early, driving remediation through root-cause eliminationEnsure documentation integrity and audit-ready reconciliations aligned with global policy Controls and ComplianceEnforce SOX controls, journal approval discipline, evidence standards, and documentation requirementsEnsure teams are audit-ready at all times, supporting internal/external audits with transparency and zero repeat findingsMaintain compliance with IFRS/US GAAP, NIQ policies, and global control frameworks Stakeholder ManagementAct as the operational partner to Entity/Cluster Controllers, Close Managers, and Finance stakeholdersProvide clear, data-driven progress updates, risk visibility, and solution-oriented communicationManage escalations proactively and professionally, ensuring confidence in financial outcomes People Leadership and Capability DevelopmentLead a team of Team Leads, Assistant Managers, and Analysts, ensuring clarity of goals, accountability, and performanceDrive a performance-based culture with coaching, documented feedback, and role clarity; address bottom talent proactivelyBuild technical, control, and problem-solving capabilities within the team; support succession planning and retention Continuous Improvement and StandardisationReduce rework, improve accuracy, and eliminate process failures through structured CI initiativesEnsure full adoption of global SOPs, standard work practices, and documentation disciplineContribute to simplification, cycle-time reduction, and process efficiency enhancements Digital, Automation, and Analytics AdoptionEnsure effective use of ERP, OneStream, dashboards, and governance tools across all BAU processesSupport automation and analytics use cases to strengthen controls and improve productivityQualificationsCA/CPA/ACCA (preferred) or MBA Finance with relevant accounting expertise10+ years of R2R/General Accounting experience in a multinational environmentStrong IFRS/US GAAP knowledge (IFRS 16 preferred)SAP/ERP and reconciliation tool proficiency (OneStream experience preferred)Proven experience in people leadership, stakeholder management, and close governanceAdditional InformationOur BenefitsFlexible working environmentVolunteer time offLinkedIn LearningEmployee-Assistance-Program (EAP)About NIQNIQ is the world’s leading consumer intelligence company, delivering the most complete understanding of consumer buying behavior and revealing new pathways to growth.
