This role offers the opportunity to lead meaningful change, modernize enterprise systems, and directly influence how Amex delivers value across markets. Role OverviewThe Lead, Oracle Cloud Transformation (Procure-to-Pay) will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) capabilities across American Express. This role drives the end-to-end design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Oracle Fusion Cloud modules — including Procurement, Supplier Management, Tax, Invoicing, and Disbursement — within the Global Supply Management (GSM) Sub-ledger Transformation Program.As the module delivery owner, you will partner closely with Finance, Technology, Controllership, Tax, and System Integrators to deliver solutions that are compliant, automated, scalable, and aligned to enterprise transformation goals. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines functional expertise, program delivery discipline, and cross-functional collaboration to enable process excellence across global markets.Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Delivery & OwnershipLead the end-to-end delivery of assigned Oracle Fusion Cloud modules — from requirements gathering through testing, deployment, and stabilization.Translate complex business and functional requirements into scalable, compliant Oracle Cloud configurations.Conduct fit-gap analysis to align business needs with standard Oracle capabilities, minimizing customizations while maintaining functional integrity.Drive the design and documentation of process flows, configuration specs, and test scenarios, ensuring adherence to Amex global standards and control frameworks.Oversee module configuration, integration, and validation in partnership with Oracle and System Integrator teams.Maintain high-quality documentation to support audit readiness, operational continuity, and future enhancements. Governance & Program ExecutionBuild and manage detailed project plans for module delivery, tracking dependencies, milestones, and critical paths.Represent assigned modules in governance forums and daily scrums; proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.Partner with Finance and Controllership to embed risk controls, compliance requirements, and audit expectations into every design.Ensure consistent configuration management across SIT, UAT, and Production environments. Cross-Functional CollaborationAct as the bridge between Finance, Tax, Procurement Operations, Technology, and Risk teams to deliver fully integrated and compliant solutions.Collaborate with Data and Integration teams to validate interface requirements and testing outcomes.Work with Change Management and Training teams to ensure smooth business readiness and adoption during go-live.Partner with Oracle and Engineering teams to align configuration standards with platform architecture and product best practices. Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline (MBA or advanced degree preferred).Minimum 10 years of experience in Procure-to-Pay transformation and ERP implementations, with hands-on delivery of Oracle Cloud or Oracle EBS solutions.Proven expertise across Procurement, Payables, Supplier, and Tax modules — including configuration, integration, and testing activities.Familiarity with tax solutions, e-invoicing, and payment automation tools.Deep understanding of governance frameworks, internal controls, and data validation principles.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead in a matrixed, global environment. Leadership CompetenciesExecution Focus: Owns delivery outcomes with discipline, precision, and accountability.Collaboration & Influence: Builds trusted partnerships across teams and geographies to drive alignment and results.Technical Proficiency: Applies deep Oracle Cloud expertise to design scalable, high-quality solutions.Quality & Control Mindset: Upholds compliance, data integrity, and audit readiness throughout delivery.Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced transformation environment, leading through change and ambiguity.Continuous Improvement: Seeks out opportunities to simplify, automate, and optimize through innovation.We back you with benefits that support your holistic well-being so you can be and deliver your best.
