The Capability branch is committed to a thriving and capable workforce equipped with the skills and confidence to support every student to realise their potential. A key part of the Capability branch is the Education Futures Institute (EFI) that delivers high-quality, evidence-informed and equitable capability development for a diverse workforce across key career stages.The EFI provides high quality, targeted professional learning for staff located in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote locations across the state. The EFI empowers staff with the skills, knowledge and capability to excel in their role.The role of Senior Project Officer is offered on a full-time temporary basis, until 31 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.About The RoleAs a Senior Project Officer you will play an important role in leading and coordinating the delivery of high-quality professional learning at the nominated EFI Regional team. Current vacancies exist in Cairns, Toowoomba, Maroochydore, Nundah, Mount Gravatt and Hope Island.Key Functions Of This Role IncludeLeading the management, administration and coordination of capability development activities and operations across the regional team.Supporting and administering regional budget and HR processes, including planning and monitoring with the Director and Senior Principal Capability.Coordinating procurement for venues, guest speakers, catering and event requirements.Facilitating communications, including drafting correspondence, briefs and coordinating updates to regional and statewide communication channelsLead regional data and reporting in alignment with departmental requirements for internal and external stakeholders.The Senior Project Officer reports to the Director, Capability, Education Futures Institute in each Region Education Futures InstituteThe Ideal Applicants Are Individuals Whounderstand the vision and strategic directions of the Department of Education and the role of capability development within this visiondemonstrate project management skills and the ability to drive new projects and initiativesdemonstrate excellent attention to detail and organisation skills across a number of priorities and manage competing demandscommunicate with a high standard of written and oral communication skillsenjoy working with a diverse team and stakeholders to deliver outcomes and make a positive impact in education.Interested?
