Job Description

The Senior Operations Analyst will be responsible for driving significant projects and managing quantitative analysis and financial modeling within the Operations group. Projects will be focused on the manufacturing and fulfillment aspects of the Company’s operations. Sample projects include: analysis for solution design and execution for customer fulfillment, integration projects for our acquired business, process improvement in our warehouse management system (WMS), improvement of transportation management and common carrier sourcing, design of rule-based systems for movement of inventory in our network, and capital projects management in our warehouse locations. A strong applicant will have experience in both financial modeling and process design to maximize operational KPIs. Many projects will have cross-functional impact, therefore excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and emotional intelligence are a must. Success in the role will create advancement opportunities that have managerial responsibility.Responsibilities/Essential Functions:Produce analysis for new initiatives in the Company’s manufacturing and fulfillment operations.Develop and maintain quantitative tools for data-driven decision making.Create financial models of contemplated operational projects or changes.Become a subject matter expert on the Company’s WMS, identify opportunities for process improvement, and manage process change.Serve as a project manager for certain capital projects.Collaborate with the Finance team, including the CFO, for financial and management reporting.Develop, visualize, and communicate operational KPIs in formats suitable for the Executive Team and the Board of Directors.Drive cross-functional communication so that operational and process changes are understood across the organization. Collect and synthesize feedback from internal stakeholders for excellent change management.Other analysis and project management activities as directed by the Chief Operations Officer. Experience and Education:5-7 years professional experience in consulting, financial services, or management in a data-driven environment.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or similar discipline required. MBA a plus.Experience in specialty food importation, wholesaling, distribution, or manufacture a plus but not required. Core Competencies and Skills:Expert ability developing spreadsheet and database quantitative analysis tools, especially MS Excel. Experience with SQL and VB a plus.Ability to build dynamic financial models suitable for planning and budgeting, projecting ROI, and project management.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Emerging leadership skills and executive presence.Emotional intelligence and professional development in the “servant leader” model.High level of attention to detail.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Friendly, helpful, and service-oriented demeanor.Excellent organizational skills. Physical Factors:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Working Requirements (Travel Requirements, Overtime, Shifts, On-Call, etc.):Travel to the Company’s facilities across the US will be required from time to time.Off-hours work to handle emergent customer matters may be required occasionally.
