About GridVest GridVest is a leading distributor and financier of commercial and industrial-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) and microgrid solutions. We work with developers, EPCs, and communities across the U.S. to deliver cutting-edge, flexible, and high quality energy storage systems — from 150 kWh to multi-megawatt projects and some smaller front of meter and utility-scale projects up to 100MWh. Our mission is to accelerate the clean energy transition by making battery storage and microgrids easier to deploy, the buying process more transparent and providing flexible payment terms to make the systems financially viable.Position OverviewGridVest is seeking a strong operator — a highly organized, hands-on Operations Manager with deep experience running complex projects and business operations in the renewable energy industry. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience (more is better) in operations or project management within the renewable or energy storage sector, with a proven ability to design and execute efficient systems that keep projects, teams, and finances on track.This is a pivotal role that blends operations, project delivery, and business enablement — perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and takes ownership of turning plans into execution. This role is the opportunity to build out the operations function at GridVest and be a key member of an early-stage yet fast growing and well capitalized organization.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Project ExecutionDrive day-to-day operations across multiple workstreams — ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality execution.Manage logistics and shipping of battery systems and components across domestic and international supply chains.Develop and maintain internal systems, SOPs, and reporting tools to improve operational visibility and efficiency.Coordinate commissioning of commercial-scale battery storage projects across multiple stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient setup, testing and handover. Ensuring technical milestones, documentation, and reports are completed accurately.Financial ManagementManage invoicing, accounts receivable, and cash flow tracking, ensuring timely payments and clean books.Support budgeting, forecasting, and project-level financial tracking.Work closely with leadership to align project progress with financial performance.Eventually support fundraising if we choose to raise our own fund for financing storage equipmentBusiness Enablement & GrowthSupport business development by responding to RFPs, creating proposals, and preparing quotes.Build repeatable internal processes and tools to help the company scale efficiently.Maintain vendor, client, and partner relationships to streamline procurement and project delivery.Qualifications5-10+ years of operational or project management experience in renewable energy, energy storage, or a related technical field. Must know the difference between kW and kWh.Demonstrated ability to run complex operations — from logistics and commissioning to invoicing and team coordination.Deep understanding of project lifecycles and operational best practices.Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.Strong financial and analytical skills; comfortable managing budgets and tracking payments.Proficient in project management software (Asana, Monday.com, Airtable, or similar).Strong communication skills; able to lead cross-functional teams and manage client/vendor relationships.Nice to HaveExperience in battery storage, microgrids, or distributed energy systems.Familiarity with ERP or CRM systems (HubSpot, NetSuite, Salesforce).Experience writing or managing RFP responses and technical proposals.Prior experience in a startup or scaling organization.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary commensurate with experience and location.Significant performance-based bonuses.Full healthcare coverage (medical, dental, vision).401(k) with company match up to 6%.Flexible remote work environment with occasional travel to conferences and to meet in person.Opportunity for long-term growth in a rapidly expanding clean energy company.
