We offer a generous benefits package and compensation commensurate with your experience and skill set.General DescriptionThis position provides senior operations research and program management support to the Air Force Office of Small Business Programs (SAF/SB). The successful candidate will formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists Air Force management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. In addition, the candidate may collect and analyze data and develop decision support software, services, or products as well as develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation.Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will perform the following:Assist in the collection, quality control, analysis, and reporting of enterprise performance data pertaining to the Air Force acquisition life cycleDevelop data collection mechanisms, perform performance tracking and assessment baselining, and develop processes to efficiently gather relevant authoritative data; ensure the quality of source data and derived products; analyze costs, work breakdown structures, schedules, financial data, trends and other program data; and reports results to Air Force senior leadersSupport the planning, development, and migration of efforts to coordinate all performance measurement and monitoring activities to include risk assessment and management techniquesDevelop quantifiable organizational performance measures and indicators that for the foundation of the concept of success (i.e., specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely)Produce analysis and metrics reports for senior leaders at the Air Force, Major Command, and Program Executive Officer levelConduct Cost/Schedule/Performance Assessments, Risk Assessments, and System Shortfall Trend AnalysisSpecialized KnowledgeThe successful candidate will have knowledge in the following areas:Knowledge and expertise in the DoD acquisition processExperience with performing “headquarters” staff level workKnowledge of mathematical techniques like statistics and optimization that support developing and applying mathematical modelsKnowledge of the practical application of engineering and technology principles to design and improve processes and systemsThe ability to analyze data, identify trends, use forecasting and data mining methods, and interpret complex informationKnowledge of how to diagnose problems, think critically, organize information, and develop optimal solutions for complex issuesEducationBachelor's degree in Operations Research, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields of study.Professional CertificationsNone required; however, certifications such as the Certified Analytics Professional, Six Sigma, Project Management Professional, or Certified Business Analysis Professional are preferred.RequiredClearance Required Existing or ability to obtain a Secret Security clearance.ExperienceMinimum of 10 years’ experience working with DoD acquisitions and headquarters staff level work (or equivalent). Of the 10-year experience, seven (7) years must have occurred in the last 10 years.U.S. Citizen or SimilarMust be a U.S. CitizenOther Characteristics (e.g., Personal Or Language)Excellent oral, written, and communication in English. Must be able to work in a team environment with members that include personnel from other companies, Government program management and administrative personnel, and technical staff members.
