Senior Power BI Engineer

OverviewWe are looking for a highly skilled Senior Power BI Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric Semantic Models, advanced data modeling, and building high-quality BI solutions. The ideal candidate excels in SQL, DAX, and Power BI development across DirectLake and Import modes, and can translate complex business needs into clear, actionable insights.Experience with Tableau is a nice-to-have.Key ResponsibilitiesPower BI & Fabric Build and optimize Fabric Semantic Models, including: DirectLake semantic models Import mode semantic models Develop scalable datasets, dataflows, and optimized Power BI models. Ensure semantic layer alignment with business logic and performance best practices. Visualization & Dashboard Development Design and develop interactive, well-structured Power BI reports and dashboards. Create report mockups or wireframes in Figma as part of the design process. Apply strong UI/UX principles to deliver user-friendly and visually appealing BI solutions. Data Modeling & Analytics Implement robust data modeling practices (star schema, dimensional modeling, semantic modeling). Write advanced SQL for data transformations and validations. Develop efficient and maintainable DAX measures and calculations. Work closely with business stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and deliver effective insights. Integration & Embedding Support Power BI embedding into applications, including security (RLS), governance, and workspace management. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure smooth integration and data access controls. Qualifications 5+ years of experience working with Power BI in a professional environment. Deep expertise in: Microsoft Fabric Power BI Desktop & Service DirectLake & Import mode connectivity DAX and SQL Data modeling best practices Experience with Figma for visual design is preferred. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to understand business needs and convert them into BI solutions.
