Senior Product Designer

We are seeking a creative senior product designer to join our innovative in-house product design team.Minky is a market leading brand of laundry and cleaning products supplying FMCG retail with branded and private label products. We have built an outstanding reputation for offering a wide range of innovative, market focused products, constantly evolving our product range and breaking new ground.We are currently looking to increase our design capacity to allow us to push the brand into new market areas and continue to develop our current product ranges. The successful candidate will be working with the design team to develop new products under the Minky brand, taking them from initial concepts right through to manufacture.Main ResponsibilitiesDevelopment of new products from concept through to manufactureSupport the manufacturing sites with production initiationWork with category managers to establish product development opportunitiesCreative problem solvingSupport junior designerProduct and category researchConcept developmentTooling development for injection mouldingCAD concept modellingProduction ready CAD models for plastic and metal partsGA and part drawingsGenerating visuals for sales and marketing teamsDesigning to target costsPrototyping and testing conceptsProject documentation to ISO standardsTechnical support for sales and marketing teamsThe Ideal Candidate;Degree educated in Product or Industrial Design (or similar discipline)Ideally a minimum of five years of industry experienceKnowledge of SolidWorks software is essentialProven track record of taking products from concept through to manufactureExperience designing plastic, metal, textile and electrical components for mass productionSelf-motivated and methodical with the ability to work both independently and within a team, on multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience in designing consumer goods across a range of categoriesProficient across Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft OfficeAn excellent eye for detailJob Type: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:Company pensionEmployee discountHealth & wellbeing programmeOn-site parkingSick payWork from homeEducation:Bachelor's (preferred)Experience:Industry : 5 years (preferred)Location:Rochdale OL16 1TA (preferred)Work Location: In person/Hybrid
