Senior Product Designer (Founding Designer)Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid, 2 days/week in-office)Compensation: $100k to $150k, depending on experience, stock options availableRole: Full-timeReports to: FoundersAbout UsWe’re a fast-moving product studio building native AI products in the B2B and prosumer categories. We’ve already built and exited two venture backed AI startups to Snowflake and another to a PE fund, as well as boot strapped companies to millions in revenue. The media arm of our studio has over 2 million newsletter subscribers and social media followers – so when you design something it gets real distribution. We are funded by Tier 1 VC funds in the US and Canada.We’re scrappy, experimental, and results-oriented. You’ll join at the ground floor as our first dedicated designer, helping shape brand, product and experience across the portfolio. The RoleWe’re looking for a versatile product designer to be our founding design hire. You’ll wear many hats: brand and landing-page design, full product UI & UX, interaction design, and helping build/design our design system. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, marketers, and founders. You’ll also manage relationships with external design agencies or contractors when needed. You’ll help build across two to three projects at one time (studio model) rather than just one product. We will share more on our structure and process during the interview. You’ll work on web-based experiences (landing pages, web apps) in a B2B/prosumer context. You will also be compensated very competitively.Join early as the first designer: shape not just the product but the company’s visual & experience identityHigh-impact role: your work will reach real millions of potential users via multiple products and a large pre-existing audienceGet personally mentored by founders: learn from a team that has built and exited AI-startups and see how products go from zero to scaleEquity options: you’ll share in upside as the studio growsFlexibility: we offer a mix of in-person and work from homeWhat You’ll DoDefine and evolve our brand identity from scratch (visual language, tone, assets)Design high-impact landing pages, websites, and conversion-oriented flowsLead product UI & UX design: wireframes, prototypes, user flows, information architectureDesign and build our design system and component library (in collaboration with engineers)Create interaction/animation design (for web apps) using tools like Rive, Framer or similar when applicableWork in Figma (primary design tool) and ideally be familiar with tools like Webflow/Framer for production hand-off or rapid buildEstablish and execute user research and usability testing (qualitative + quantitative) to validate designs and iterateCollaborate with engineers for implementation, support design-to-code hand-off, review and QA UIManage external design agency vendors when necessary (briefing, review, feedback)Contribute to a fast-moving studio culture: multiple products, rapid launches, iteration and design refinement post launchWho You Are (Requirements)4+ years of product/UX design experience (web & B2B context preferred). Strong visual design skills: you can deliver brand identities, marketing sites, and polished UI componentsExcellent UX fundamentals: flows, IA, prototyping, usability testingExperience designing interactive/motion UI (micro-interactions, transitions)Familiar with Figma and comfortable designing components, variants, design systemsComfortable collaborating with engineers; familiarity with Webflow, Framer or similar is a strong plusExperience building or evolving a design system is desirableStrong self-starter: comfortable working in a small team, shifting contexts, collaborating directly with foundersPortfolio that showcases both marketing/branding work and product UI/UX (please include links in your application)Based in Toronto (or willing to relocate) and comfortable with hybrid model (2 days/week in office)CompensationTotal compensation of $100k to $150k, equity options are also available.
