Job Description

ResponsibilitiesLiaise and collaborate with the Contracts Manager, Project Manager, and construction teams across all commercial and contractual activities.Take ownership of maximizing commercial outcomes when preparing interim payment applications and variations for both upstream (client) and downstream (subcontractor, vendor) project stakeholders.Ensure that project revenue is properly received and expenses are managed to maintain healthy cash flow.Evaluate the quantity surveyors’ weekly data for accuracy and discuss any inconsistencies with the Senior Project Surveyor.Support project-specific procurement activities as required.Prepare interim payment applications in advance and submit them on agreed dates to achieve the best commercial advantage for the company.In conjunction with the Contracts Manager and Project Manager, prepare and agree the final account with the client’s representative.In conjunction with the Contracts Manager and Project Manager, prepare and agree the final accounts for all subcontractors.Conduct subcontractor remeasurements and assess interim payments.Compile the variation/change log and support the Contracts Manager in closing out and agreeing all variations/changes with the client’s representative.Monitor contract changes and issue notifications to subcontractors.Maintain control of subcontractor accounts and minimize the cost of variations.Consult regularly with the Project Manager regarding project progress and risks.Provide leadership and guidance to the quantity surveyors.Establish and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Cooperate efficiently and constructively with the Chief Surveyor, quantity surveyors, production team, estimator, and the commercial department.Provide the Chief Surveyor with the necessary input to ensure optimal staffing for the effective and efficient functioning of the survey division, in accordance with human resources procedures and processes.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent.At least 10 years of Quantity Surveying experience in relevant industries.
