At BLKJ Havas, we’re looking for a Senior Strategist who doesn’t just think outside the box — they question why the box exists in the first place.So, here’s why you should join us:Your role as a Senior Strategist with us will come with many responsibilities, you will be constantly looked at for creative and strategic inspiration from within the agency and from our clients, you will be expected to needle, probe, poke, examine, analyse & hypothesize - the consumer, the brand and culture.You could make or break the brands you are responsible for, so your inputs will not be taken lightly.We have kickass creatives you can count on to bring your brief to life.Most importantly, you will find help from everyone within the agency if you seek it, especially from the Strategy Director who will make sure it is his/her sole mission to set you up for awesome.Getting down to the details, the role will include:Working closely with the accounts’ teams and creative staff (art directors and copywriters) to create strategies that ensure advertising campaigns meet the clients’ business objectives. We believe Teamwork makes the dream work.The first responsibility would be to understand the clients' business problems.The Senior Strategist must be on the pulse of conversation and culture – be it socio-cultural / human observations, evolving mindsets, attitudes, or universal truths and frame them into tensions / needs / behaviours that are gaps OR opportunities for the brand to solve / tap on. We expect you to be plugged in!Uncover insights through investigation, whether it's desktop research or commissioning external qualitative and quantitative research, analysing and interpreting a variety of data points, tapping on to current social trends and cultural movements. We like research!Working with our creative staff, the Senior Strategist prepares several strategies that we present to clients before deciding together which approach would produce the most effective output. Many solutions to a problem, but we like the best one.That then forms the angle, by which the marketing campaign and key messages are developed. Spearheading the creative direction. The Senior Strategist would also act as a content strategist, including content planning, recommending frequency, cadence, messages and collaborating with key team members to conceptualise content ideas/angles. You’re expected to create integrated marketing communication plans across channels – social to offline.The role also includes working with clients’ business intelligence team and media agency partners to evaluate campaign effectiveness through the analysis of key data points, from sales data to media performance reports, recommending ways to optimise results, from consideration to conversion. We like to constantly get better at what we do.Requirements:Degree in Marketing, Communications or in a journalistic, analytical, research, behavioural/ social science, psychology related discipline.At least 5 years of professional experience in creative/research/media/social marketing agency or journalism roles.Experience in strategic planning and market research.Marketing background and strong analytical capabilities a must.Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.Solid interpersonal and teamwork abilities as strong facilitation skills.Open-minded, curious and self-motivated to do awesome.A willingness and desire to continuously learn about new techniques and to acquire new knowledge.While these are our requirements, we love anomalies, so if you consider yourself one do apply!
