Senior Technician

About the RoleOur client, a global leader in automated logistics and fulfillment solutions, is seeking a Technician based in Japan. You will be part of the Engineering Operations team at the Customer Fulfillment Center (CFC), responsible for the maintenance and reliability of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as robots, conveyors, elevators, and belts.This role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system performance, safety, and operational efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor machine and system conditions within the CFC and respond promptly to equipment failures to minimize downtime.Conduct planned maintenance (e.g., inspections, cleaning) safely and according to set procedures.Support 5S activities (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) daily.Comply with occupational safety and health regulations and internal safety policies, coordinating with safety officers as needed.Record maintenance work, parts usage, and performance data accurately.Collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to improve equipment reliability.Participate in installation or upgrade projects for new systems and equipment.Required Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceFluency in Japanese (reading, writing, and speaking) is mandatory.Knowledge of machinery, electrical systems, or control systems is preferred.Certifications such as Safety Manager or Second-Class Health and Safety Manager are advantageous.Experience in FMCG or manufacturing environments preferred.Hands-on experience in troubleshooting, predictive and preventive maintenance, and automation systems.Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail and adaptability to change.Behavioral TraitsInterpersonal and communication skillsAnalytical and problem-solving mindsetCommitment to continuous improvementDetail-oriented and reliableStrong time managementFlexible and collaborativeWorking ScheduleStandard: 4-shift, 3-rotation system (8 hours/day)May switch to day shifts depending on project needs.
