Senior Underwriting Manager – Marine Cargo📍 Singapore 💼 Permanent | Specialty InsuranceWe are partnering with a reputable insurer seeking an experienced Marine Cargo Underwriter to support the growth and technical performance of their Singapore portfolio. This is a senior individual contributor role — ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on underwriting, portfolio work, and strong broker engagement within the local market.About the RoleIn this position, you will underwrite Marine Cargo risks for the Singapore market, manage complex cases, and work closely with brokers and internal stakeholders to ensure profitable and sustainable book performance.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderwrite and price Marine Cargo risks in accordance with internal guidelines and local risk appetite.Assess complex submissions and negotiate competitive terms with brokers and clients.Manage and develop the Singapore Marine Cargo portfolio with focus on profitability and quality of risk.Review policy wordings, clauses, and endorsements to ensure suitability for the local market.Maintain strong relationships with Singapore brokers, clients, and business partners.Work closely with actuarial, claims, and product teams to support decision-making and product enhancements.Monitor Singapore market trends, competitor movements, and emerging risk patterns.Requirements5–10+ years of Marine Cargo underwriting experience in Singapore (insurer or reinsurer).Strong technical expertise in cargo risk assessment, pricing, and policy wordings.Solid understanding of the Singapore marine insurance landscape and distribution channels.Proven ability to independently underwrite complex risks.Confident communicator with strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.What You Can ExpectSenior-level underwriting exposure without the need to manage a regional portfolioDirect impact on a key Singapore specialty lineA collaborative team environment with strong broker supportAttractive remuneration and long-term career development opportunitiesInterested candidates you may submit your resume in word format to jeremy.tang@quesscorp.sg.
