Role: Senior Website DeveloperLocation: Fully RemoteExperience: 5+ YearsSpecialization: Recruitment Industry & Job PlatformsAbout The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Website Developer for a contract role to lead the development and enhancement of our recruitment-focused web platforms. The ideal candidate is a technical expert with a proven track record of building sophisticated, high-performance websites and job boards using both modern React and WordPress.You will be responsible for taking ownership of the entire web development lifecycle, from architecture and development to deployment and server configuration. This is a hands-on role for a developer who understands the unique dynamics of the recruitment industry and can build seamless experiences for both job seekers and employers.Key Responsibilities Front-End Development with React: Architect, develop, and maintain dynamic, responsive, and high-performance user interfaces for our job platform using React.js. WordPress Customization & Theme Development: Design, build, and customize WordPress websites and themes from scratch, specifically tailored for recruitment agencies or job boards. Extensive experience with custom post types, advanced custom fields (ACF), and complex queries is essential. Full-Stack Integration: Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints to connect front-end React applications with WordPress or other custom back-ends. DevOps & Server Management:Set up and manage domain names, DNS records, and link them to hosting servers. Configure web servers (e.g., Apache/Nginx) and manage hosting environments. Implement SSL certificates and ensure website security best practices. Manage code deployments and version control using Git. Recruitment Industry Expertise: Apply your understanding of the recruitment sector to implement features such as job listings, candidate profiles, application tracking systems (ATS) integrations, search filters, and user role management. Performance & Optimization: Ensure optimal website performance, speed, and scalability through code optimization, caching strategies, and image compression. Collaboration: Work closely with our project managers and designers to translate business requirements and UI/UX designs into functional, high-quality code. Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of professional website development experience. Proven Portfolio: Must provide examples of live recruitment websites or job platforms you have built. Expert in React: Strong proficiency in React.js, including hooks, state management (Redux/Zustand), and modern React best practices. Expert in WordPress: Deep experience in custom theme and plugin development, PHP, and the WordPress template hierarchy. Full-Stack Proficiency: Experience connecting front-end applications to back-end services and databases. DevOps & Infrastructure Skills:Hands-on experience with domain registration, DNS configuration (A, CNAME, MX records), and linking domains to servers. Practical knowledge of cPanel, SSH, FTP, and web hosting control panels. Experience with website migration and deployment processes. Technical Toolkit: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, Sass, JavaScript (ES6+), and PHP. Fully Remote Work Ethic: Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to manage your time effectively in a remote, contract setting. Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)Experience with headless WordPress setups. Knowledge of SEO best practices for job boards and recruitment sites. Familiarity with performance monitoring tools (e.g., Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix). Experience with payment gateway integrations for premium job listings. Understanding of accessibility (WCAG) standards. Contract DetailsThis is a contract/freelance position. Fully remote. You can work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection.
