The Site Engineer will establish the level and survey control for contracts and set out detailed works per the contract drawings, ensuring that checks are made regularly.Key ResponsibilitiesHealth, safety & environmentPromote the Barhale Cardinal Rules and establish safe working cultures and practicesComply with company procedures and legal obligationsPromote and comply with environmental complianceDeliver the works safelyQualityPromote best practiceComply with company proceduresEnsure work is delivered defect/snag-freeEndeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunitiesSite engineeringEstablish the level and survey control for contractsSet out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are carried out regularlyEnsure that records are accurate and comply with organisational and legal requirementsResolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any timeProduce procurement schedules for the jobs and liaise with our procurement department to ensure the site has adequate resources to complete the tasksProduce ITPs and Task BriefingsProduce 2a -week look-ahead in conjunction with the Site AgentProduce Site Diaries and Allocation SheetsKey Measures and TargetsAccurate and timely setting out of the worksTimely handover of works and Quality records without outstanding defectsProduction of accurate records, drawing registers and weekly diariesKey RelationshipsDevelop good working relationships with the site workforce and the customer's technical representativeAbout You EssentialPrevious experience in setting out on civil engineering projectsSound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulationsFully conversant with the use of robotic total stations or EDM instrumentsDegree qualified/HNC (or equivalent) in civil engineeringExcellent communication skillsSelf-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook DesireableExperience in using AutoCAD and MS OfficeTemporary-works co-ordinationCSCS cardCable avoidance trainingFirst aid trainingNEBOSH or IOSHCaring and investing in youOur values have been embedded at Barhale for over 40 years, and they are our guiding principles regarding how we care and invest in people.
