Social Media Manager | Johannesburg | RetainerThe Bowling Club (Remote / Johannesburg Preferred)Reporting to: Operations & Partnerships ManagerStart: November 2025Type: Retainer (Ongoing, 6-month renewable)Compensation: R10,000 – R15,000/monthHours: Approx. 25–30 hours/weekAvailability: Must be reachable daily during key posting and release windowsRole Purpose | Social Media ManagerThe Social Media Manager is the voice, rhythm, and daily energy of The Bowling Club across platforms.You’ll manage and grow the digital presence of all our creative assets — The Sishii Brand, The B-Side Podcast, Camomile Sessions, and Camomile Live — ensuring a unified, authentic, and dynamic social presence that drives audiences to watch, listen, and engage.This role is ideal for a digital-native storyteller who understands both content marketing and culture — someone who knows how to balance consistency, tone, and creative flair while keeping The Bowling Club’s channels fresh, smart, and human.Core Responsibilities | AccountabilitiesContent Management & SchedulingOversee content calendars for all Bowling Club assets.Coordinate uploads and posting schedules with the Producer and Editor.Write engaging captions and maintain consistent visual tone.Manage comments, DMs, and audience interactions.Campaign CoordinationCollaborate with Sishii and Milan to promote releases, live events, and merch drops.Support the rollout of weekly content (music releases, video series, podcast episodes).Create and schedule teaser campaigns for upcoming projects.Analytics & OptimizationTrack performance metrics using native analytics and Sprout Social/Looker dashboards.Identify trends and adapt posting times and formats accordingly.Provide monthly performance reports to the Operations & Partnerships Manager.Creative CollaborationWork closely with the Producer and Editor to repurpose video and photo assets into high-performing short-form content.Collaborate with the Graphic Designer for visual assets, thumbnails, and branded templates.Primary Collaboration | Reporting LeadReports to Operations & Partnerships ManagerCollaborates with:Sishii & Milan (creative direction, tone, and approvals)Producer (content pipeline and scheduling)Video Editor/Post Production Agency and Graphic Designer (asset preparation)Admin/VA (calendar management, posting logistics, reporting)Skills and Experience:Must-Have:3+ years in social media management or digital content marketing (preferably in music, media, or entertainment).Hands-on experience managing multiple brand accounts.Strong understanding of short-form video trends and audience behavior.Exceptional copywriting and captioning skills.Experience using scheduling and analytics tools (Meta Suite, TikTok, YouTube Studio, Sprout, or similar).Nice-to-Have:Content editing experience (Premiere Pro, CapCut, Canva, or mobile editing tools).Understanding of YouTube SEO and retention strategies.Familiarity with African entertainment and creator economy trends.Culture and Values:Alignment Looks Like:At The Bowling Club, we care deeply about:Integrity — We do what we say we’ll do.Craft Excellence — We take pride in our creative work and execution.Humility — We stay teachable, no matterhow talented we are.Respect — We treat people like collaborators, not commodities.This role suits someone who lives online but still understands the offline human side of art and culture.We’re looking for someone who:Loves music, storytelling, and building communities.Moves fast, adapts faster, and cares about getting details right.Can write like a fan but think like a strategist.Feels equally at home in creative brainstorms and analytics dashboards.A Winning OutcomeBy month 6, The Bowling Club’s channels feel alive, cohesive, and engaging — every post feels intentional, every comment answered, and the audience feels like they’re part of something growing.
