Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our Social Transformation Project, a six-year initiative designed to uplift low-income families (herein referred to as clients) towards a more stable and fulfilling future.The project involves the establishment of a dedicated community hub offering holistic and integrated support services — including career guidance, child and youth development programmes, family therapy, counselling, and medical services. The Social Worker will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team running the hub, providing case management and continuous support to clients throughout their transformation journey.This role requires active collaboration with multiple stakeholders — including government ministries, statutory boards, social service agencies, and NGOs — to ensure seamless project design, implementation, and day-to-day operations once the community hub becomes fully operational.The hired person will need to be:1. Prepared to work shifts, including weekday evenings and weekends, and may be required at times to return to the office for emergencies.2. Open to learning OCTAVE’s model of shifting consciousness, which entails attending overseas residential training programmes lasting more than a week.Key Responsibilities:• Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners (government agencies, NGOs, service providers) and work closely with the internal community hub team to deliver integrated programmes and services for families.• Coordinate daily operations, ensure high-quality service delivery, and identify potential risks with appropriate mitigation strategies throughout programme planning and execution.• Support the design and implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks, track programme effectiveness, manage budgets responsibly, and prepare regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology or Public Administration preferred. A master's degree will be an advantage.• While prior social work experience is not mandatory, relevant experience in social work, community development, or public service will be a bonus. Familiarity with the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and Ministry of National Development (MND) is a strong plus.• Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to work effectively with government agencies, social service organisations, volunteer groups, and NGOs.• Understanding of Social Mobility Issues: Demonstrated interest and understanding of issues related to poverty alleviation, community empowerment, and family well-being.• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with strong interpersonal skills to engage, influence, and negotiate across diverse stakeholders.• Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to address complex social challenges with empathy and sound judgment.
