This includes product engineering, media engineering, quality assurance, engineering behind personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity.Disney's Developer Productivity team is seeking a Software Engineer with a passion for writing full-featured, developer-facing tools and frameworks using modern technologies across a variety of languages. You will help us facilitate development within our parent team (as well as the organization at large) by building batteries-included frameworks that allow devs to quickly begin writing product code without worrying about configuration. You will also take the services developed by other teams and package them in ways that make them intuitive and accessible for developers all across Disney Streaming.ResponsibilitiesDevelop tools and frameworks that empowers other engineers all across the organizationPartner with the UX design team to transform mock-ups into components, pages, and applicationsJoin forces with other DPE teams to provide a more user-friendly experience for their services and dataCollaborate with Product Managers to help scope features, identify technical implementation, and ensure we're building the right tools in the right wayBasic QualificationsProficiency in Web technologies, including Javascript/TypeScripts, React, HTML, and CSSStrong passion for building stable, well-tested applications and packages in a collaborative environment3 years developing large, well-tested applicationsExcellent debugging skillsOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsEnthusiasm for new technologies, languages, frameworks, and platformsBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experiencePreferred QualificationsExperience with GraphQLExperience working with Agile methodologiesExperience with AWS, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, and/or TerraformExperience with other popular languages (Node, Go, Java, Scala, Python)Experience with internal toolsThe hiring range for this position in New York City and Seattle, WA is $123,000 - $165,000. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
