As an EPeep, you'll work on projects that have a real impact on students' lives and have the freedom, support and resources you need to develop your skills and grow your career. We're searching for a Software Engineer to join our Essential Assessment (EA) team, a platform trusted by thousands of schools across Australia for Primary Mathematics and English. In this role, you'll help build, improve and maintain the platform that teachers and students rely on every day. You'll work closely with our Lead Engineer, Product Manager and General Manager, collaborating across teams to keep the platform reliable, secure and evolving. What you will doPlay a key role in developing, improving and maintaining our Essential Assessment software platformDeliver high quality code across projects, tasks and bug fixes, working to specification and using sound judgment to solve problems independentlyCollaborate closely with engineers and the wider team to build a strong understanding of the platforms history and architectureBring your experience and ideas to the table to drive ongoing technical enhancements and innovationEnsure all software meets our standards for quality, security, maintainability, reliability and scalabilityConduct thorough testing, both automated and manual, to ensure performance and stabilityTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectivelyCreate clear, concise technical documentation for reference, reporting and team knowledge sharingContribute to a supportive, inclusive and positive team culture where everyone can thriveAbout you3+ years of professional experience working with PHP and MySQLExperience with legacy systems, jQuery, AWS and accessibility best practices is a plusStrong attention to detail, with a genuine focus on quality and craftsmanshipDemonstrated ability to deliver high quality work in an agile, fast-moving environmentExcellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross functional teamsA reliable, professional and trusted team member who takes pride in their workEquitable opportunities, growth, and development lie at the heart of how we work at EP.
