Whether you are trying to relax on a villa by the water, or zip line 90 feet up throughout the island, opportunity for fun and enjoyment is available everywhere you look.Position SummaryOperation and maintenance of solid waste handling equipment; to include solid waste separation, handling, storage, disposal and equipment cleanliness.In order to consistently exceed guest expectations and provide the highest levels of product and services, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.DIMENSIONSMaintains and follows a schedule at regular intervals throughout operational days to collect solid waste from guest areas and process it for recycling.NATURE AND SCOPE Reports directly to the Environmental Supervisor for work related issues. Works closely with all directors and managers. The employee must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment; also, must be able to adjust to changes in schedules, assignments and deadlines.Essential Functions Performs hourly and daily duties in solid waste collection according to a set schedule Collect and segregate solid waste into recyclable categories as per company policy. Operates the Incinerator, Bramidan X25 Baler, and Orca Digester as per company policy. Cleaning and Maintenance of recycling equipment. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Maintain environmental equipment/gear when ordered/requested. Impose and maintain environmental consciousness. Department requests must be responded promptly and professionally according to working schedule and business priority. Assist in garbage off-loads. Takes direction from Environmental Supervisor as to division of responsibilities and assignments. Follow directives of management to adhere to all behavioral, safety and other rules for employees and keep management informed of any issues that affect operations. Inform Department Manager if any improper waste segregation or any other violation of company policy is observed. Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.Education And Experience High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Ability to operate small machinery Basic to Intermediate level English verbal and writing skills, including the proper use of English grammar is requiredATTRIBUTES Professional workplace etiquette and discretion. Positions may require repetitive motion of bending, climbing, going up and down stairs and lifting more than 25 pounds. Work within different temperature changes—indoors to outdoors. Able to pass basic safety course. This is a minimal description of duties.
