With our vision and strong values, we invite you to join the Koç University family to achieve new milestones in your career.We are looking for a Spectroscopy Division Senior Specialist to join the N2STAR of our university who meets the following criteria:Qualifications• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Engineering, materials science, or related field with at least 3 years of hands-on experience on Mass Spectroscopy or Small/Wide Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS/WAXS).• Experience with Mass Spectroscopy or Small/Wide Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS/WAXS) equipment, installation, preventative maintenance planning, and troubleshooting.• Proficient in specifying, purchasing, installing, and qualifying spectroscopy equipment.• Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).• Project management skills for prioritization, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making.• Strong attention to detail, persistence, follow through, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.• High energy, self-motivated with strong communication skills and personal work ethic, and a strong sense of ownership.• Proficiency in MS Office programs, computer software, hardware, and English.Job Description• Operate and maintain advanced spectroscopy equipment to perform micro/nano-scale characterization• Take ownership of spectroscopy workflows, provide expert guidance on complex spectroscopic techniques, and support users in experimental design, data acquisition, and analysis.• Coordinate user training for spectroscopy equipment and execute necessary follow-up activities.• Coordinate, document, and ensure the calibration, maintenance, and repair of spectroscopy division equipment.• Collaborate with relevant departments and individuals to ensure the spectroscopy division operates to desired standards.• Act as the point of contact during laboratory emergencies and coordinate necessary measures.• Generate ideas for new machinery/equipment in the spectroscopy division and determine product specifications.• Participate in national/international meetings for continuous improvement and represent the organization as required.• Fulfill additional duties assigned by managers and/or the University to meet role and department requirements.Koç University embraces the principle of equal opportunities.
