In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.To Ensure The Achievement Of This Large-scale Project, G Mining Ventures Is Looking For An Experienced And Motivated Individual To Fill The Position OfSpeed Boat CaptainThe Boat Captain is responsible for the safe navigation and operation of the vessel, ensuring the safety of passengers, crew, and cargo. They oversee all aspects of boat operations, including compliance with maritime regulations, maintenance, and crew management.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely navigate the vessel using Local knowledge, nautical charts, GPS, andMonitor weather conditions and adjust plansEnsure the vessel operates within regulatory guidelines and safetyConduct safety briefings for passengers and crew beforeEnsure all safety equipment is operational andRespond to emergencies, including medical situations, mechanical failures, or adverseManage and train crew members in their respectiveDelegate tasks and oversee daily operations on theFoster a positive working environment and ensureConduct regular inspections of the vessel to ensure it is seaworthy and well-Coordinate repairs and maintenance with marine technicians asKeep accurate logs of maintenance andProvide excellent customer service to passengers, addressing their needs andManage onboard activities and ensure a pleasant experience forMaintain accurate records of voyages, including passenger lists, cargo manifests, and maintenance logs.Submit required reports to maritime authorities and companyQualifications/Skills And ExperienceValid Captain's license (from MARAD) BM3 orExtensive knowledge of maritime navigation, safety protocols, andValid STCW certificate from an accreditedStrong leadership and communicationCPR and First Aid certificationExperience operating speed boats and similar vessels is highlyWorking ConditionsPosition based at the OKO Project site. Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days OffTransport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
