In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West Project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of: Security ManagerJob SummaryReporting to the Camp/Site Services Manager, the kitchen Executive Chef is responsible for playing the head role in the daily operations of the kitchen and providing leadership & direction and driving the kitchen team.Working ConditionsThe Executive Chef position at the OKO West project site in Guyana will be a rotation-based role, offering flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the successful candidate’s location and personal preferences. A 23 on/19 off rotation is preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan all tasks for the Supervisor, Cook level 1,2 & 3 and kitchen attendants.Able to give training to the supervisor, cooks and attendantsOperate all kitchen equipment and train others in the operation of all equipment.Develop menu planning and introduction of new recipesMake sure all dishes are prepared according to standardized recipesFood cost controls and waste controlsCoordinate and facilitate the field lunch room mealsEnsure total general cleaning of all kitchen areas.Comply with hygienic and sanitary standards as well as safety at workEnsure timely serve of food on the service line during meal periods.Report to the Camp Manager if something is broken or damaged and create work-order notificationsInventory management and stock par levels calculationsMust adhere to the safety policy/standards of the company and Newmont values.Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers (employees onsite)Responsible for the daily timesheetAssist HR (disciplinary) actions when neededParticipate in work and shift handover with colleague’s Local ChefAssist with inventory management together with the SupervisorsAnticipate and manage conflicts in the kitchen and adapt to the different personalitiesQualifications And Skill Requirements ExperienceMinimum 5 years of working in high volume kitchen operations in comparable position.
