Job Description

Purpose:Our team of engineers, designers, and technical specialists are in the forefront of technology in the medical device industry. As a key member or our group, you will be making vital contributions to the New Product Development (NPD) pipeline and improving patient care through innovation. You will work with NPD teams and Suppliers to develop robust metal part designs, tooling and manufacturing processes that meet or exceed all product requirements at the lowest possible manufacturing cost. This role provides an opportunity to bring exciting new products to market while also providing the opportunity for leadership and significant professional growth.You will be responsible for:Be responsible for the development and qualification efforts of medical device technologies assembly lines to meet cost, quality and performance targets.Apply Design for Manufacturing & Assembly techniques, Lean Six Sigma process knowledge, and the Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) tools to drive product design to its most efficient outcome. Provide technical support to drive development, qualification and stabilization execution.Develop and maintain manufacturing line including troubleshooting and solving critical issues to optimize scrap and efficiency. Leverage PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) related to the qualification and validation of software systems, to troubleshoot and document issues for software fixes. Qualify Vision Systems used in manufacturing, and implement best practices to ensure the Vision Systems work correctly and reliably. Conduct research toward new product or process development or improvement of existing products or processes. Uses analytical/technical expertise to contribute to product development/testing Plan, develop, qualify, and stabilize component development process solutions for NPD projects Use CAD (Computer Aided Design) to create drawings and relate ideas to the machine shop for manufacturing of production parts.Education:5-7 years of experience with BS engineering (Electrical / control system and software, or related field) degree or equivalent or 3-5 years with an MS engineering degree Required: A minimum of 5+ years equipment development and process experience, with a focus on manufacturing processing and equipment development through process qualificationPossess hands-on knowledge of manufacturing and assembly techniquesDemonstrated problem solving skillsAble to work in a team based, collaborative environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred:Experience in a medical device production environment or other regulated environmentProcess Excellence Six Sigma knowledgeOther: This position may require up to 30% international travel
