To do this, they will collect, clean, model, and analyze data using machine learning, data science, data engineering, and statistical analysis techniques.Responsibilities:Support the team by building data science models, developing insights, and uncovering trends to improve the Los Angeles Kings business operations (demand forecasting, fan segmentation, fan behavior, customer retention) .Lead and collaborate on the development of data science and advanced analytics models including customer lifetime value modeling, dynamic pricing, demand forecasting, ticket inventory mix optimization, customer retention forecasting, and customer persona modeling.Analyze core business datasets which include: ticketing purchases, attendance, merchandise and concession sales, fan demographics, social media metrics, digital marketing spend, media valuations, tv ratings, web analytics, and app usage.Understand, optimize and deploy existing models using statistical analysis and machine learning techniquesDesign interactive dashboards and communicate actionable insights through Power BI to support strategic decision-making. Assist other AEG sports entities by helping to move, store, and organize data in addition to sourcing data via web scraping and connecting to APIsGain experience applying data science principles to solve problemsBuild data models that help solve high-impact business questionsPartner closely with the data science mentor to complete and present a final projectQualifications:To be eligible for this internship you must be a current student pursuing a Master’s degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field.Highly organized, resourceful, and dependable, with excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skillsPassion for sports, live entertainment, data, and technologyExperience and strong interest in data science, machine learning and data engineering.Experience with statistical analysis and machine learning using Python/RIntermediate to advanced SQL knowledgeExperience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau)Experience with and/or interest in Large Language Models (LLM) or generative AI is a big plusExperience with Microsoft Azure, Databricks and Databricks SQL is a big plusYou have prior experience from internships, work, or projects in a related fieldExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to multi-task and work well under pressureDesire to learn more about the sports and entertainment industryThe AEG Internship Program requires a minimum commitment of 24 hours per week during the summer.Benefit:Work on increasingly challenging and engaging real-world projectsGain hands-on experience in event planning, marketing initiatives, and business administrationCollaborate with experienced sales and activation professionalsWork closely with experienced team members who coach and provide mentorshipAttend meetings, events, and other networking opportunitiesIntern Perks:Corporate networkingResume reviewAttend meetings, events, games, and other networking opportunitiesPay Scale: $19.00 - $21.00Location: El Segundo, CA (On-Site)Bonus: This position is not eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.Benefits: Part-time: This position is not eligible for benefits.AEG reserves the right to change or modify the employee’s job description, whether orally or in writing, at any time during the employment relationship.
