Job Description

Mission of the Role:As the Global Head of Electronic Supplier Quality, you will be responsible for defining and executing the global strategy for supplier quality management, with a primary focus on electronic components. You will lead a global team to develop a world-class, resilient supply base capable of supporting Visteon's aggressive growth in software-defined and electrified vehicle architecture. Your leadership will be critical in mitigating supply chain risk, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring flawless launches with our strategic suppliers.Key Objectives of this Role:Strategic Leadership & Global Team Management:Develop and implement the global Supplier Quality strategy, ensuring alignment with Visteon's overall Procurement and Product Development goals.Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global team of Supplier Quality Engineers; foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.Establish consistent global processes, metrics, and best practices for Supplier Quality across all regions and manufacturing plants.Sophisticated Supplier Development & Introduction:Own the strategic relationship and quality performance of Visteon's critical electronic suppliers, including semiconductors, PCBA, and power electronics.Lead the supplier qualification, development, and approval process for new suppliers, ensuring they meet Visteon's technical, quality, and capacity requirements for future programs.Drive the global supplier audit program and manage complex supplier improvement plans (e.g., TPP, SIDP) to achieve benchmark levels of performance.Global Project Management & Escalation Handling:Serve as the ultimate global escalation point for critical supplier quality issues, leading cross-functional and cross-regional teams to implement robust containment and permanent corrective actions.Ensure flawless new product launches by overseeing the global supplier Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) execution.Report directly to senior management on supplier quality health, launch readiness, and strategic initiatives, providing data-driven insights for decision-making.Executive Stakeholder & Supplier Engagement:Communicate with clarity and impact to Visteon executive leadership, OEM customers, and supplier senior management, representing the Supplier Quality function with authority and expertise.Negotiate and influence at the executive level with key suppliers to drive fundamental improvements and secure commitments for mutual success.Partner with Commodity Management and Engineering to influence the sourcing strategy, ensuring quality is a primary determinant in supplier selection.Qualification, Experience and Skills:10+ years of progressive experience in Supplier Quality, Engineering, or Procurement within the automotive electronics industry, with a minimum of 3+ years in a global / regional leadership role managing managers and technical teams.Proven expertise in the technical and manufacturing processes for semiconductors, microcontrollers, and advanced electronic components. Deep understanding of the global semiconductor market and supply chain trends.Demonstrated success in developing and deploying global Supplier Quality strategies, managing a multi-million dollar departmental budget, and driving P&L-positive quality improvements.Expert-level knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, APQP, PPAP, and Lean Manufacturing principles. Proven ability to coach and develop these competencies across a global organization.Exceptional executive-level communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and confidently to all levels of the organization and with external partners.Strong business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of automotive industry trends, competitive landscape, and supply chain dynamics.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required; an advanced degree (MS, MBA) is highly preferred.Willingness and ability to travel (~30%).
