Job Title: Experienced Supply Chain Manager (Fresh Fish Manufacturing)Location: HullSalary: Competitive, dependent on experience.About the role: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Supply Chain Manager to join our fast-paced and ambitious fresh fish manufacturing business. This is a pivotal, hands-on role in which you will take full ownership of our end-to-end supply chain, from sourcing and procurement to planning, logistics, and delivery. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of optimising supply chain processes and driving efficiency in the food manufacturing sector.Key responsibilities:· Procurement: Develop and manage relationships with a global network of suppliers to ensure a consistent and cost-effective supply of high-quality raw materials. Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance.· Import and Export: Oversee all import and export operations, including managing documentation, customs procedures, and compliance with all relevant food safety and trading regulations.· Planning: Take charge of demand planning and forecasting to ensure optimal inventory levels across the business. Work closely with production teams to create a seamless operation.· Logistics: Manage and coordinate all logistics and distribution activities, working with third-party transport providers to ensure timely and temperature-controlled deliveries to customers.· Data and Systems: Analyse supply chain data to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement. You will be a super-user of Excel, creating forecasting models and performance reports. Experience with supply chain software (SI preferred) is a distinct advantage.· Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team to meet departmental and company goals.Essential requirements:· A minimum of 2 years' experience in a senior supply chain or procurement role, preferably within the fresh food, short life or fish manufacturing industry.· Demonstrable expertise in procurement, logistics, and inventory management.· Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.· Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.· Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.· A proven track record of implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.Desirable requirements:· Experience with specialist supply chain software such as SI (Systems Integration).· A degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.· Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment.
