Supply Chain Operations Research Intern (Fall 2025/Spring 2026)

Job DescriptionThe Supply Chain Operations Research Internship offers the opportunity to tackle some of the toughest challenges in logistics and fulfillment at Shopee. Interns will apply quantitative analysis, modelling, and operations research techniques to optimise our large-scale supply chain network across Southeast Asia.As an intern, you may work on projects that encompasses:Design of the transportation network, deciding the optimal number and location of hubs and warehousesDevelopment of warehouse layout strategies to improve productivity and throughputModelling of inventory placement across the network to reduce lead times and costsProjection of the end-to-end supply chain costs under different demand and volume scenariosOptimising last-mile delivery strategies for both urban and rural regions ResponsibilitiesCollect, clean, and analyse large operational datasets from across marketsBuild and test quantitative models to evaluate trade-offs and propose improvements in logistics and fulfilmentApply operations research techniques to problems in network design, cost optimisation, capacity planning, and productivity improvements.Develop data-driven recommendations, supported by assumptions and clear implications for business decisionsPresent findings and insights to regional and local stakeholders in a clear, structured mannerRequirementsCurrent undergraduate or master’s student in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fieldAble to commit for 3 to 6 months, with full-time availability strongly preferredStrong skills in SQL and Python, with experience in data manipulation, modelling, and optimisation libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, SciPy, PuLP, OR-Tools).Solid understanding of operations research methods (e.g., linear programming, network optimisation, simulation, queuing theory).Analytical thinker with the ability to evaluate trade-offs, challenge assumptions, and assess real-world implications.Strong communication skills to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.Curious, hands-on, and eager to work on practical challenges in logistics and fulfilment What We OfferPlay a hands-on, high-impact role improving how Shopee fulfills millions of orders every day.Gain exposure to diverse markets, operational challenges, and scaling environments in Southeast Asia.Build both strategic and execution skills, from data analysis to on-the-ground implementation.Work with a driven, high-performing team in a growth-focused environment that values ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
