As the successful candidate you are organized and highly collaborative, with strong communication skills and an infectious positivity that impacts and motivates all team members. You have a strong ability to operate equipment and field tools, with a healthy respect for the great outdoors and the timeline of the task at hand.What you will do:Manage and perform field survey work with the support of Survey AssistantsLiaise with Project Managers to coordinate field survey work, review and manage project budgets, schedules, priorities, and survey methodologyLiaise with client field representatives and landowners and be a brand ambassador for GeoVerraPrepare field notes, sketches, checklists, and digital data in required formats for different audiencesProvide guidance, training and mentorship to Survey AssistantsContribute to the development and implementation of industry best practices, efficient field processes and procedures and the innovative use of new technology. Proactively participate in and support the GeoVerra safety programComplete office technical survey tasks as required and other duties as assignedWhat you will bring: Diploma/Degree in a post-secondary program related to surveying and geomatics or an equivalent experienceStrong working knowledge of survey equipment and software such as GPS and Total Stations (Including Robotic)Experience of Trimble equipment and software, laser scanning and line locating considered an asset3-5 years of experience in a Survey Crew Chief role completing construction and legal surveys is requiredStrong problem-solving skills in a field environmentEffective verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to produce accurate and legible field notesThe ability to develop and motivate survey staff and work well in a team environmentAn aptitude for delivering projects on time and budgetA valid driver’s license and can provide a clean driver’s abstract; andSuccessful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe WorkplaceJob Conditions:Out-of-town work (possible shift work)Ability to carry, lift and push up to 50lbs on a regular basisNight shift may be requiredAbility to work outside in all weather conditionsWhat we offer:Competitive CompensationComprehensive benefits coverage, vacation, wellness days, and RRSP matching contributions.
