Job Purpose:As the Accounting & Reporting Manager, you will oversee the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls. You will lead a team of accounting professionals, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other key deliverables. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization, driving process improvements, and providing strategic insights to senior management.RequirementsPrincipal Accountabilities: Accounting and Financial ReportingManage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)Oversee the consolidation of financial data from multiple operating units (OUs), ensuring accuracy and consistencyEnsure the timely and accurate preparation of management reports, Board Pack deliverables, and other financial summariesReview and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by the teamEnsure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting standards Team Leadership and DevelopmentManage and mentor a team of two direct reports, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality outputsFoster a collaborative and high-performance team culture, promoting continuous learning and developmentEnsure effective workload management, delegating tasks appropriately to meet reporting deadlines and business needs Stakeholder Collaboration and SupportWork closely with the Group Controller and FP&A Manager to provide accurate financial information and insights to senior leadershipCollaborate with local finance teams across OUs to ensure consistent application of accounting principles and timely reportingProvide accounting expertise and support for strategic projects, acquisitions, or operational initiativesAssist with internal and external audits, ensuring the timely provision of requested data and resolving audit queries Compliance and Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with local, regional, and international accounting and tax regulationsMonitor and manage any potential accounting risks, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actionsLead the preparation and submission of statutory filings and tax returns as required Process Improvement and OptimizationIdentify and implement process improvements in accounting workflows, financial reporting, and system usageDrive the adoption of best practices in accounting and reporting, ensuring efficiencies and accuracy in the department's activitiesLead or participate in financial system upgrades, migrations, or process automation initiatives Ad-hoc Financial Analysis and ReportingSupport the Group Controller and senior leadership with ad-hoc financial analyses, reports, and recommendationsAssist in preparing special project reports, including cost analyses, profitability studies, and regulatory compliance reportingKey Challenges:Balancing the competing demands of regular financial reporting with ad-hoc requests from managementEnsuring consistency and compliance across diverse OUs with varying reporting practicesManaging a small team effectively while fostering development and collaborationMaintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data in a fast-paced environmentJob Knowledge, Skills & Experience:Essential:12+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, with at least 2 years in a managerial roleStrong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and financial reporting standardsMaster's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Experience in managing accounting processes for a large, multi-national organizationProficiency in ERP systems (preferably SAP) and advanced Excel skillsSolid understanding of internal controls, financial compliance, and audit proceduresDesirable:Experience in a downstream Oil and Gas or manufacturing environmentExperience in managing statutory reporting and tax compliance across multiple jurisdictionsCompetencies: Leadership: Effectively manage and mentor a small team, fostering a high-performance culture Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of accounting standards, regulations, and financial reporting Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide clear insights and recommendations Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy and completeness in financial reports and statements Communication: Communicate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams Problem Solving: Address challenges in accounting processes and implement improvements Compliance Focused: Ensure adherence to all regulatory and internal control requirementsClosing date for applications: Thursday 27 November 2025.
