Due to the Security Clearance required for this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance.About The RoleThe purpose of the System Safety Lead position is to implement and execute the application of System Safety Engineering methodologies within the Landing Craft Heavy projects and the broader business.Key Objectives & Responsibilities IncludeImplement and enforce System Safety Engineering and methodologies within projects.Stakeholder management.Conduct Hazard Analysis workshops.Prepare deliverables.Business Process Management.Champion System Safety.Required Skills / Experience / AttributesTertiary qualifications in Engineering or related discipline.Demonstrated maturity and depth of experience in MIL-STD-882E or similar.Demonstrated maturity and depth of experience defence acquisition and/or sustainment.Understanding & practical experience working within a complex project, quality assurance & business improvement process and targeted & effective business solutions and outcomes.Demonstrated experience within a classification society or Defence SeaworthinessDemonstrated expertise working closely with a design team.Why AustalCompetitive compensation and benefits package.Professional development and training opportunities.A supportive and dynamic work environment.Opportunities for career advancement within our growing organisation.What's on Offer?Located in HendersonPermanent salaried positionNine-day fortnight with an RDO every second FridaySalary Sacrificing, Novated Leasing, Retailer discount, EAP, Insurance discountsOur global team is guided by a universal set of values that describe the focus of our efforts.
