About the programme Magang is a local program designed to support graduates who are in their final year and about to graduate or have graduated and have up to two years of work experience but are currently unemployed. This initiative offers hands-on experience in a professional setting, helping participants build essential skills, expand their networks, and prepare for long-term career success. Our 12-week magang programme commences in March 2026 and is designed to give you maximum exposure to our technical disciplines. You’ll become part of a collaborative and inclusive workplace as you build on your technical and interpersonal skills, and you’ll enjoy access to some of the most talented people in their fields. Available positions Engineering Mechanical engineering Process engineering Integrity management: pressure systems integrity (PSI) engineering Instrument & control engineering Electrical engineering Maintenance Subsurface Petroleum engineering Reservoir engineering Geophysics Geology Petrophysics Wells During your internship you’ll be a member of one of our onshore teams in one of the Drilling, Completions, Intervention or Integrity sub-disciplines, which look after how our Wells are designed, constructed, maintained and operated. As part of that team you’ll be expected to use your initiative, problem solving, collaborative and organisational skills under the guidance of an experienced engineer, to deliver the solution to a challenging project that addresses one of the issues that your team faces Project If you enjoy working in a fast-moving environment within high performing teams delivering nationally and internationally significant projects, then a career in project may well be for you. Our project teams provide the information and detailed analysis that enables bp to design and deliver efficient and competitive projects. They perform a wide range of activities, including estimating, planning & scheduling, cost forecasting and control, across all stages of the project lifecycle. Project teams have a unique view across the whole of the project and support the project management team in all areas of key decision making. HSE&C Health, safety, environment, and carbon (HSE and carbon) cares for and protects our people and planet from harm. Roles and responsibilities Magang: Assist teams with routine tasks such as organizing files, scheduling meetings, and handling basic administrative duties. Help with research, data entry, and documentation to support ongoing projects or initiatives. Participate in training sessions, shadow professionals, and apply feedback to grow professionally. Join meetings, share ideas, and work with different departments to understand how the business operates. Show responsibility, punctuality, and respect for workplace rules and company values. The precise nature of your role and task will be determined by your skills as well as the needs of the business but your responsibilities include: Working on task and supporting your squad to find the best solutions Helping to maintain performance within your squad and for bp as a company Building relationships within bp, collaborating across functions and squads to deliver excellence Demonstrating agility, initiative and dedication through the bp “Who we are”. During your internship you’ll get continuous feedback and guidance on how to plan and deliver your assigned project or task, along with advice on what to look for and who to talk to. You’ll also be encouraged, individually and together with your Intern peer group, to find out as much as possible about other teams, disciplines and operations to broaden your understanding of the bp business. To be eligible for magang programme you are: Be part of ethnicities of Papua or parent(s) originally from the land of Papua. Have a relevant Bachelors (S1) or Masters (S2) or PhD (S3) degree in related roles, such as: Engineering: mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, material engineering, marine engineering, metallurgical engineering, electrical engineering, physics Maintenance: informatics engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering Subsurface: petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, geology, geophysics, physics Wells: Chemical Process, Civil, Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Mining/Metallurgy, Petroleum, Reservoir, Subsea or Chemistry, Data/Computational science, construction, Geosciences, environmental science, materials science/corrosion, maths, physics or petrophysics Project: mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunication engineering, industrial engineering, petroleum engineering, mining engineering, informatics engineering, math, business, management HSE&C: environmental engineering, process safety, HSE/K3, sustainable management, industrial engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering Have a willingness to learn, a passion to excel and deliver results Graduation criteria for eligibility for magang programme: graduated by December 2025 Applicants with less than 2 years professional working experience may also apply Location You will be based in our Jakarta office.
