We’re looking for a Technical Manager – GAP who can bring together strong technical knowledge, regulatory understanding, and commercial insight to help keep our programmes world-class. About the Role As Technical Manager – GAP, you’ll ensure our programmes for GLOBALG.A.P. and NZGAP meet all technical, regulatory, and accreditation requirements while driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency and technical consistency. You’ll build strong relationships with standard owners and industry partners and provide trusted technical leadership across the business. The Technical Manager – GAP role has become available as part of our ongoing succession planning activities. This is a varied, influential role where you’ll use your expertise to solve problems, support teams, and ensure compliance is maintained without losing sight of customer needs. With your knowledge of horticultural requirements, you will assess peers on their competency to fulfil their technical duties, providing regulatory guidance and specialist technical advice to aid the development technical procedures and work instructions. It is essential that the person within this role has the right qualifications and experience to gain approval to deliver GLOBALG.A.P. audits. About You You’re a confident, detail-oriented professional who thrives on working with both people and processes. You bring: A tertiary qualification in horticulture (at least 2 years full time study) At least 4 years of hands-on horticultural experience, with the ability to become GLOBALG.A.P. approved. It would be ideal if you are already or have previously been a GAP auditor. A solid understanding of certification frameworks and quality systems Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders Sound judgment and commercial awareness, balancing compliance with customer needs The ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations in a practical, outcome-focused way A background in horticulture— along with 5+ years in a technical, regulatory, or certification role — will set you up for success.
