Corus International is seeking a Technical Service Manager, Nutrition for a new MIHR Project based in Addis, Ethiopia.The successful candidate must have authorization to work in Ethiopia.Project SummaryThe MOMENTUM Integrated Health Resilience (MIHR) Project, led by IMA World Health and funded by the U.S. Government, aims to improve maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) and nutrition outcomes in Ethiopia's fragile and conflict-affected areas. In Ethiopia, MIHR implementation is led by JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. in collaboration with IMA World Health/Corus International. The Activity strengthens health systems and community resilience by expanding access to and utilization of quality, life-saving MCH and nutrition interventions, enhancing facility readiness, and improving health security through strengthened emergency preparedness, disease surveillance, and outbreak response to sustainably reduce preventable maternal and child deaths. MIHR operates across six regional states Amhara, Benishangul-Gumuz, Oromia, Sidama, South Ethiopia, and Tigray and contributes to three key intermediate results: (1) enhanced facility readiness, (2) improved service access and utilization through contextualized delivery models, and (3) strengthened health security and system resilience.Position SummaryWorking closely with the Deputy Chief of Party, the Technical Senior Manager - Nutrition will provide strategic leadership, technical guidance, and capacity-building support to improve the quality and coverage of maternal, infant, and young child nutrition (MIYCN) and community-based nutrition services across project implementation areas. This role is pivotal in addressing the disproportionately high malnutrition and mortality rates in fragile settings. The Senior Technical Manager will play a key role in strengthening the competency of health workers, enhancing service delivery, and supporting the integration of nutrition within maternal and child health (MCH) platforms. S/he will ensure all interventions are evidence-based, aligned with Ethiopian Ministry of Health (MoH) priorities, and strategically integrated within the project's MCH and health security platforms to build long-term system resilience. The Senior Technical Manager will develop and adapt, as needed, project-wide strategies to improve access to and quality of services through the implementation of evidence based high-impact interventions. S/he will work with project colleagues within the consortium and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the appropriate integration of technical services and approaches consistent with the project objectives. Additionally, the Senior Technical Manager will build relationships and collaborate closely with the Ministry, Regional, Zonal and Woreda Health officials, as well as with other coordinating partners. The position will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and will be expected to visit project sites frequently.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Delivery Services, Quality and ImpactProvide overall technical direction for nutrition programming, with a specialized focus on Adolescent, Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition (AMIYCN), Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM), and Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (IYCF-E), specifically tailored for fragile and crisis-affected environments.Ensure systematic integration of maternal, newborn, and children nutrition interventions (screening, counseling, and treatment) across the continuum of care (ANC, delivery, PNC) and community platforms, reinforcing the MIHR strategy of an integrated approach.Support the adaptation and rollout of national training packages and quality improvement tools in line with MoH and Regional Health Bureau (RHB) standards, building on lessons learned from prior USG investments.Capacity Building and Competency StrengtheningLead the design and implementation of extensive capacity-building initiatives for health workers at regional, zonal, and Woreda levels, ensuring these efforts directly contribute to enhanced health facility readiness.Technically provide coaching and mentorship of the project staff and collaborating stakeholders to ensure appropriate integration of nutrition interventions and implementation of evidence-based practices.Identify capacity needs and work with the Consortium Leadership to implement evidence based and context relevant remedial actions.Oversee the implementation of Quality Improvement (QI) training in MCH and nutrition for health workers in facilities implementing the Catchment-Based Clinical Mentorship (CBCM) model, directly contributing to quality service delivery across the project sites.Strengthen Local Implementing Partners (LIPs) by providing technical mentorship on integrating essential nutrition services into existing community-level MCH platforms including in resilient in fragile and conflict-affected contexts.Develop nutrition tools ensure institutionalization by the consortium team members, and other stakeholders.Service Delivery and Quality ImprovementSupport health facilities to ensure functional Outpatient Therapeutic Programs (OTP) and inpatient stabilization centers for the management of severe acute malnutrition (SAM).Contribute to quality assurance and routine supervision activities to improve adherence to national nutrition protocols and standards.Strengthen supply chain management for essential nutrition commodities, equipment, and job aids to ensure the operation of Outpatient Therapeutic Programs (OTP) and inpatient stabilization centers-a critical component for health security and basic service provision in vulnerable areas.Community Resilience and Demand GenerationDesign and implement approaches to improve nutrition awareness and promote healthier practices within the geographical implementation areas.Contribute to the development of the emergency preparedness planning and be ready to respond to nutrition-related emergencies as needed.Coordination, Alignment, Monitoring and EvaluationWork closely with MoH, RHBs, Zonal Health Departments, and Local Implementing Partners (LIPs) to ensure all nutrition activities are aligned with country priorities and build on existing health systems, supporting the sustainability goal.Contribute to monitoring, documentation, and data use for decision-making, emphasizing the capture of best practices and lessons learned unique to integrated health resilience in fragile contexts.Monitor and document progress, challenges, and lessons learned from nutrition promotion and behavior change interventions to strengthen program impact.Prepare and submit high-quality project report in line with donor requirements and compliance standards, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with project objectives and performance indicators.Participate in national nutrition technical working groups (TWGs) to ensure project priorities align with national strategies, contribute to policy discussions, and share best practices and lessons learned.SupervisoryThis position does not supervise anyone directly but will indirectly/technically oversee the work of Service Delivery Specialists.Required QualificationsAdvanced degree (MPH, MSc, or equivalent) in Nutrition, Public Health, or related field.Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in maternal and child nutrition program design, implementation, and capacity building in USG funded projects in EthiopiaDemonstrated technical expertise in AMIYCN, CMAM, IYCF-E, and maternal nutrition integration within MCH platforms.Proven experience in training, mentorship, and supportive supervision of health workers at multiple system levels.Proven track record of developing and maintaining strong working relationships/strong coordination and partnership management skills with government, donors, and implementing partners.Program planning, monitoring, and quality improvement expertise.Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.Fluency in English required; knowledge of additional local languages preferred.Technical mastery of nutrition service delivery and integration within MCH systems.Adaptability able to work in dynamic, resource-limited or emergency contexts.Ability to travel frequently to field/facility sites, often in challenging settingsMust have
