Job Description

Purpose of the role The Technical Services Controller (Private Sector) provides expert technical advice concerning the condition and maintenance of the leased vehicles to mitigate risk and maintain asset value.Key deliverables and outputsTechnical Services SupportSchedule and perform routine fleet inspections on leased vehiclesPerform technical/mechanical vehicle inspections as requested by the customer helpdesk and maintenance teamsPerform and process various inspections (tyre, fleet, dealer, end of vehicle terminations, quality control inspections etc.) and ad-hoc terminations timeously and in line with agreed protocols Conduct sale and leaseback inspections to minimise financial riskConduct mechanical assessments as per maintenance department's instructionComplete pre-term and post-accident inspection requests timeously and professionally in line with set standardsCreate services schedules for customersFlag risks on fleet to minimise risk to the business and customersVerify accuracy of all data captured and accuracy of authorisationsCreate and maintain relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.Reports and AdministrationCreate and submit reports to various internal and external stakeholders for informed decision making Receive daily downtime reports (major repairs and normal repairs) and follow up with dealers on status to provide assistance to the maintenance departmentMaintain data integrity and accuracy of the inspections database (i.e. manual system, AS400 (FMS), etc.) for compliance with customer requirements.Internal and External StakeholdersThe role requires close engagement and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.Academic Qualifications Essential: NQF Level 6 Qualification (i.e. Qualified Artisan - Mechanic)Valid Driver’s License Code 10 driver’s License.Advantageous: Panel Beating Artisan Certification.Work ExperienceEssential:3-5 Years’ Experience in Service Advisory (technical) environment1-3 Years’ Basic experience in dealing with customers.Advantageous: 1-3 Years’ Experience within the Motor Industry.Note: This role may be required to travel extensively for inspection purposes. This role may be required to work overtime/after hours from time to time.
