They connect patients with providers to quickly ensure they receive the care they need. They want to bring on a Temp Medical Records Coordinator to assist with their busy season.Salary/Hourly Rate$20/hr - $22/hrPosition OverviewThe Temp Medical Records Coordinator would be a diligent and highly detail-oriented team member. This is a critical, high-volume role focused on the compliant and efficient intake, processing, and release of sensitive medical documentation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can work independently with minimal guidance, and is deeply committed to maintaining strict HIPAA and privacy standards. This is a remote contract role beginning mid-December, expected to last until March 2026.Responsibilities Of The Temp Medical Records Coordinator Uploading received PDF medical records and patient authorization forms to the associated member's electronic chart. Processing inbound medical record requests and forms, ensuring completion and accuracy. Maintaining a consistent workflow by processing all assigned requests. Documenting the internal note on every inbound fax (via Zendesk) for tracking and compliance. Locating the corresponding member support ticket and notifying the assignee of the documentation upload. For net-new requests, initiating the appropriate ticket kick-off for a Medical Records agent to continue support. Processing the secure release of medical records to external parties as needed, strictly following all prescribed processes to ensure the privacy and security of member information. Adhering rigorously to all HIPAA guidelines, ensuring the absolute confidentiality of Patient Health Information (PHI). Monitoring incoming requests received through various means and promptly reporting any suspicious release of medical records requests to maintain a flawless compliance record. Working independently and requiring minimal support and guidance to consistently achieve daily performance and processing targets. Demonstrating creative problem-solving skills to address unique operational challenges. Required Experience/Skills for the Temp Medical Records Coordinator: 1+ years of experience in a medical office, healthcare, or administrative role handling protected health information (PHI) or medical records. High comfort level adopting new technologies and platforms. Efficient in tech-related tasks and tech-savvy. Advanced understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology. Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment. Outstanding communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information empathetically Must be action-oriented, resourceful, and capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy. Preferred Experience/Skills for the Temp Medical Records Coordinator: Familiarity with Zendesk. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
