The Opportunity: The Manager, Head of Trades will serve as the primary office support for the Director, Engineering while overseeing all trade personnel within the department. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing daily trade projects to ensure completion on time, within scope, and in accordance with established quality standards. The Manager will play a key role in aligning trade team activities with departmental goals and will maintain strong communication between field operations and engineering leadership.

Duties Duties and Functions Provide direct support to the Director of Engineering on all matters relating to trade operations and departmental projects. Supervise, schedule, and manage all trade personnel, including electricians, plumbers, carpenters, HVAC technicians, and other skilled trades. Plan and assign daily work orders and projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. Monitor project progress, providing direction and troubleshooting to ensure timely completion. Maintain accurate records of labor hours, materials used, and project costs. Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with safety protocols, building codes, and internal standards.

Coordinate with other departments to minimize disruption and align priorities. Lead recruitment, training, and performance management of trade team members. Ensure adequate inventory of tools, equipment, and materials to meet operational needs. Prepare and submit reports to the Director of Engineering, highlighting progress, issues, and recommendations. Qualification Standards Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising trade personnel in a facilities, construction, or property operations setting. Strong knowledge of multiple skilled trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc. ) and related building codes.

Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proven leadership and team-building skills with experience in staff development. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and work order management software. Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to enforce compliance. Hospitality or country club experience preferred but not required. The Manager, Head of Trades ensures the seamless execution of all trade-related projects within the engineering department. This individual will balance administrative oversight with strong leadership in the field, supporting both the Director of Engineering and the skilled trades team.
