The Sales Executive (Supervisor) role is responsible for coordinating efforts within the group sales segment to assist in meeting and exceeding the team’s booking goals. This position will manage both corporate and social groups with key responsibilities as follows: Key Responsibilities: Lead Generation: Identify potential clients through networking, cold calling, and market research to uncover new business opportunities—particularly for corporate groups, conferences, weddings, and other events. Client Relationship Building: Establish and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers and prospective clients, understanding their needs to tailor sales approaches accordingly. Sales Presentations:
Deliver compelling presentations that showcase the resort’s amenities, guestroom types, meeting and event spaces, and available packages. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with clients, including guestroom rates, catering options, and special requests. Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and local market conditions to adjust sales strategies as needed. Site Inspections: Conduct property tours for prospective clients, highlighting key features and addressing any questions or concerns. Customer Service: Provide exceptional service throughout the sales process to ensure client satisfaction, promote intent to recommend, and drive repeat business. Administrative Support:
Assist with general sales coordination tasks, including document preparation, data entry, and communication support, as well as any other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Four (4) years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk operations, or a related professional area. A two-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major. A four-year college degree is preferred. Proven experience in proactive lead generation within hospitality sales. Experience managing both proactive and reactive hotel sales. Knowledge of property-specific business segments (e. g. , group, catering, transient).
General knowledge of the hospitality industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong presentation and negotiation skills. Proficient in basic computation and data analysis. Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written. High attention to detail and follow-up. Ability to represent the hotel at industry events and networking functions. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Additional responsibilities include promoting awareness of the brand image both internally and externally, applying sales techniques that maximize revenue while maintaining guest loyalty, and communicating with potential clients via phone to arrange preview packages, tours, or sales presentations.
This includes verifying eligibility requirements for Marriott Vacation Club preview package sales/tours when applicable. The role also involves thoughtfully identifying and coordinating appropriate amenities or gift items—such as reward points, curated local experiences, or event tickets—to recognize and thank guests for their loyalty and patronage. The Sales Executive will provide administrative assistance to the Sales & Marketing team by performing essential office duties such as filing, email correspondence, data entry, and general communication support. Accurate message-taking, recording, and relaying—ensuring completeness, clarity, and timeliness—is also expected. Leadership and Operational Support:
Assist management with training, evaluating, counseling, motivating, and coaching employees. Serve as a role model and the first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process. Follow all company policies and procedures; maintain a clean and professional appearance; ensure the confidentiality of proprietary information; and protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers. Welcome and acknowledge all guests in accordance with company standards; anticipate and address service needs; and express sincere appreciation. Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Prepare and review written documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
Answer telephones using proper etiquette. Foster positive working relationships, support teamwork, and respond appropriately to colleague concerns. Maintain quality standards and expectations. Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors. Preferred Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Related Work Experience: At least one (1) year of related work experience. Supervisory Experience: None required.
