Wir erstellen datenbasierte Berichte, Policy-Briefs und öffentliche Veranstaltungen zur Stärkung demokratischer Kontrolle über Kapitalflüsse.RoleVolunteer Researcher — Venture Capital (Swiss & LatAm focus)What you will do (Responsibilities)Map and profile Swiss venture capital firms, angel networks and institutional investors — identifying investment focus, ticket sizes, typical stages and recent deals.Compile comparable data for key LatAm VC players and cross-reference (sectors, valuations, co-investment patterns).Produce clean, reproducible datasets (Google Sheets/Airtable/CSV) and short analytical memos (1–3 pages) summarizing findings.Create slide decks and visualizations for internal briefings and public reports.Support outreach to selected investors and ecosystem actors when needed (email drafts, contact lists).Monitor news and press for major fundraising rounds, policy changes, or new instruments relevant to Swiss and LatAm VC.Work closely with OLEGISAR’s research lead to align deliverables with ongoing projects and timelines.Qualifications & skillsStrong research skills and attention to detail; experience with desk research and primary source verification.Familiarity with venture capital vocabulary and processes (deal stages, term-sheet basics, LP/GP structures).Experience collecting and cleaning data in spreadsheets; basic data visualization skills (charts, simple dashboards).Language skills: fluent English; good written German and Spanish are strong advantages.Proactive, reliable, able to meet agreed deadlines; comfortable working remotely and collaboratively.Prior experience with Crunchbase, Dealroom, PitchBook, ORBIS or similar databases is a plus (not required).Academic or professional background in economics, public policy, finance, sociology, or related fields is welcomed.Time commitment & durationVolunteer position: flexible, remote.Suggested commitment: 6–10 hours/week.Typical assignment: 3–6 months with possibility to extend based on mutual fit.What you’ll gainHands-on experience researching international VC ecosystems and comparative finance.Mentorship from researchers with policy and advocacy experience.Visibility: contribution acknowledged in reports and on OLEGISAR channels.Networking opportunities with researchers, funders and civil-society actors.
