Sadlier, Inc. leads the strategic vision, planning, and execution of all marketing initiatives across both the Academic and Religion divisions. Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive drives brand growth, digital innovation, and customer engagement through data-informed strategies that unite the company’s educational and faith-based missions while keeping each sector separate. Overseeing a cross-functional team spanning campaign strategy, creative services, eCommerce, and marketing operations, the VP ensures cohesive messaging, measurable ROI, and alignment with business goals. As a member of the senior leadership team, this role strengthens Sadlier’s presence in public schools, Catholic schools, parishes, and dioceses nationwide, advancing the company’s legacy of excellence in education and Catholic formation while fostering innovation and growth across both sectors.Core Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & OperationsProvide visionary leadership and strategic direction for all marketing functions across the organization, aligning efforts with overall business objectives and revenue goalsOversee cross-functional planning, coordination, and execution of integrated campaigns across all platforms—including websites, catalogs, emails, events, eCommerce, and multimediaLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team of directors, managers, and specialists, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvementDefine key performance indicators and deliver ongoing marketing analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership and the CEOManage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation, cost efficiency, and strategic prioritization of high-impact initiativesCommunicate a comprehensive annual marketing calendar aligning with key business cycles, including back-to-school, winter/spring campaigns, and seasonal faith-based events.Brand Strategy & GovernanceServe as the steward of the company’s brand identity, ensuring all marketing initiatives reflect consistent, mission-driven messaging and visual alignmentLead any brand evolution and/or repositioning efforts, including corporate rebrands, website rebrands and major visual identity updatesDigital Experience, Web, and eCommerceOversee all company web properties and eCommerce platforms, ensuring a unified, high-performing digital experience that drives engagement and conversionLead digital strategy to continuously enhance site usability, SEO, navigation, accessibility, and content performance Lead the integration of platforms including HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoom, and Wistia to enable automated, behavior-based, multi-channel campaigns and deliver highly qualified leads to salesDirect relationships with digital partners and vendors—including HubSpot, Salesforce, Zmags, Wistia, and eCommerce providers—to ensure seamless marketing automation and data integrationOversee the company’s online infrastructure to support personalization, behavioral targeting, and multi-channel engagementOversee the relationship with New BreedMarketing Campaigns & Demand GenerationOversee and approve the planning and execution of high-impact marketing campaigns across product lines, customer segments, and channelsImplement account-based marketing (ABM) strategies targeting key decision-makers, leveraging webinars, master classes, and industry conferences to drive qualified engagementCoordinate closely with Sales, Product, and Publishing teams to ensure marketing initiatives align with pipeline goals and sales enablement needsUtilize advanced project management systems to optimize campaign workflows, timelines, and collaboration between internal teams and external agenciesEngage and oversee external creative resources, agencies, and freelancers for large-scale or specialized projectsServe as a strategic advisor and active member of the executive leadership team, contributing to company-wide initiatives and long-term growth strategiesEducation, Experience, Skills Required:10+ years of experience in educational marketing, educational publishing, digital marketing and e-commerce, at least 5 years of that in K-12 educational marketingStrong understanding of the K–12 education market, with knowledge of the Catholic or faith-based education sector considered a significant plusStrong written and verbal communication skills (Spanish, a plus) with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationshipsStrong experience in marketing analytics with search engine optimization and analytics preferredBachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferredProven track record of strategic planning, budget ownership, and P&L responsibility for marketing functionsExperience transforming legacy marketing organizations into digital-first, data-driven teams focused on measurable outcomesExtensive experience managing and mentoring high-performing teams and fostering cross-departmental collaborationHistory of building brand equity and market presence through strategic campaigns, partnerships, and thought leadershipMust be able to travel (industry conferences such as IRA, NCTE, NCTM, NCEA) approximately 5-10% of the time
